I've hit 4 deuces at the Loose deuces VP at the Ditz twice ;)
I had two long rolls in bubble craps, hitting 4 points on each. Both times I went from almost wiped out to doubling my buy-in ($40, alas).
I had a wonderful birthday. I met with Doc, Mrs. Doc and Dan for lunch (full report when I get back). But I also got lots of compliments about my outfit, and a man tried to pick me up (you can follow with any kind of juvenile derogatory and stupid comments for all I care).

Congrats... hopefully you played hard to get and got a free dinner out of the deal 😁
P.S. - Happy Birthday!

Tried? Hopefully you let him down easy.

Actually he did ask me to dinner. It's somewhat complicated, but I politely declined. He was a gentleman about it, and we had a good chat through the rest of the bubble craps session. I'm just not entirely comfortable socializing with men in that context just yet.
But I felt very flattered.

I assume you were playing on quarters, right?

No the 101.6% loose deuces is a nickel coin dropper.

Sounds like a great birthday Nareed!

Alas, it's a nickels-only machine. But where else can you play for 90+ minutes on $20? And thus far I'm ahead. It fits my ultra-low roller tendencies like a custom made glove.
Later in the trip I'll try the 10/7 double bonus VP either at the 4 Queens for quarters, or at the Cal for $0.50 That's bot ultra-low, but it's low enough.

Thanks tringlomane! I didn't know that.
Quote: kewljHappy belated Bday, Nareed. Enjoy the remained of your trip. Sorry about the weather today (Saturday), cool and one of our 3 annual rainy days, at least this morning. We will try to do better in the coming days. :-)
Thank you.
Sorry for the delay in replying. for some reason I can't post to the board from the tablet.
I thought rain was outlawed from Las Vegas by statute. ;) But carrying a light cardigan outside a casino was a novelty. You can see me holding it in the WoVCon photo.
Did you get some chippies from him? Juiciejennie would have !

We were playing bubble craps.
But I've seen him a few more times since. he's a local low-roller and likes playing bubble craps downtown. We chat a bit each time.
Speaking of which, I think I'll head over to Binions for some more. I made $150 yesterday. Or I'll try the Loose Deuces again.
Quote: JohnzimboHappy Birthday! The nickel Loose Deuces machine, does it have a chair with a backrest? I seem to recall it doesn't and if not I just won't sit down as I can't get comfortable
Thanks!
It does have a backrest.
Funny story. To the left of the machine is the Sigma Derby. To the right is the sports book. At the Sigma, gamblers cheer their horses and shout out encouragement or derision. During a big game, gamblers at the sports bok do the same towards the players on the screen. neither of their targets can hear, nor would do anything about it if they could.
So i tell the loose deuces machine what i want it to draw. :)
The man began to cross the street when the light indicated one second to go, then strolled along slowly all the way to the Four Queens end where a motorcycle cop was waiting for the green light.

If you target the vibrations of your yelling, the Sigma Derby horses respond. It takes a while to get it figured out, but once you do, you start raking in the quarters.

My research on the matter suggests that's hokum.
What you really need to do is use the Force in a very focused and limited way ;)

I know this isn't the Spanish word of the day thread, which is good because this isn't Spanish ;) But the correct spelling is brava.
And thank you!

It's a tupo in an amlost-SPanish wrod ;P
The exhibit was ok, and I definitely want to learn more about Leonardo, the Renaissance and its art. Despite some interactive wooden models of da Vinci's works, I don't think it's worth the $27 admission ($22 with a coupon in my case).
The Bellagio buffet was nice, but other than variety the food wasn't much better than the one at MSS. The deserts are amazing, though, and very tiny so one can try a good variety. Now, since I don't eat fish nor sea food, I may have missed on something. People who eat such things might find it a good value. I did raid the sushi station for pickled ginger.
Buy a reusable pod and a pound of ground. That will knock the price per cup down to 50-cents or less. The investment is paid back before you need to buy more coffee. GN sounds like some really cheap bastards. I'm use to poor quality coffee in hotel rooms, but I've never had to pay extra for it.Quote: NareedI was right about the coffee. that is, you can get your own Keurig capsules anywhere (I got some at Walgreen's and then some more from the Kitchen station at the south outlet mall). Typically they run $10-$12 for a box of 12. The GN won't replenish the cardboard coffee cups, nor the sweetener and cream packs, so get a cheap coffee mug from the souvenir stores and wither buy Splenda or sugar packets, or steal them from wherever you eat. GN charges only if you use the box of four capsules in your room, and if you request more from housekeeping.
