TOWN: A little burg in Montana
Casino name: Undisclosed

I walked in the door at 11:00 am.
"Mickey! How you doing?" Stan was doing his usual. He's a hands on owner. He sits at a table by the door and greets people as they come in.
"Good, Stan. How are you? How's the wife and kids?"
"Good! Good! Everybody's good. Hey you still got $15 on the books from last time." He got up and bolted for the till. Stan has a slot club. There's no card. He pays people a couple dollars an hour to play his machines. I walked over to the machines and punched up Jackpot Aces. The $100 Aces Full meter still there. My 13.5% play was still working.

I sat down and went to pull out a bill.
"No! No!" Stan said as he walked up. "Here! Play this first." He handed me $15. I put the bills in the machine, punched in the 50 cent bet , then started fiddle farting around. Stan was watching. I didn't want to blow any strategy but didn't want him to see any strategy either, especially holding an Ace kicker with a pair, which you will see about every 12 hands. Stan finally left. Just after he walked away I came off with an Aces Full hand. I was off and running on his money. I kept running good and hit 5 Aces Full in the first hour.

I played on. It got on to about 4:30 pm. I saw Stan put on his coat. He always goes home between 3 and 5 and takes a nap. He's back by 7. He came over and said goobye to everyone then headed out the door. By that time I had hit 12 Aces Full and two 5OAK's. That's about $1500 in jackpots but you take a big drop between hits

I gave it about ten minutes then hit the cashout button. I cashed a $980 ticket. I didn't have a dime of my own money in the machine. I gave the girl $20 and said "Tell Stan I got busines up this way in a couple months. I'll stop in and see him."

"I sure will. And you have s nice day" she said.

It's a strong play. But things don't always go as smoothly as it did on this particular day.

P.S. I snapped some pictures while I was there. I'll show them to you guys when I get home. The road trip is going longer than I thought. I'm 15 days in and it looks like it might go another 15 days. And for those who like to poke fun about my drinking I want you to know that booze has not touched my lips the entire trip, and won't. I'm a mean old man. I always get the money, honey. But you can rest assured that it will damn sure be Miller Time when I get home.

Video poker, video keno, video line games. Everything. I thought the trip would only go a couple weeks but I caught a lot of meter buildup and got bogged down. The good end of it is I've made some pretty good money. I'm having breakfast at McDonald's in Whitefish. Its a little after 7. The casinos start opening at 8. Its 14 degrees, snowing and the wind is blowing. We've got fricking blizzard warnings today. God, I'm a crazy SOB for working in this crap. I've got 6 more casinos to hit here then I should be able to jump on AMTRAK tonight for Spokane.

There has been some concern that i may be giving away to much information. That someone could surmise that the play is in or around Whhitefish and the casino owner's name is Stan.

1. Three days ago in the other thread i said "I was through that town the other day." I left that town a week ago and have come a lot of miles since.

2. I used an alias for the casino owner. Stan is not his real name.

3. I turned off the GPS in my android before taking the pictures I will be posting.

Note that, if the appropriate feature is turned on, the phone can still get location information (either from cell phone towers or from proximity to wifi hotspots). If you are worried about giving away the location, you might want to check the Exif data in the pictures before posting.

What I do (in Windows) is right-click the file and choose Properties, then Details - Remove Properties/Personal Info - Remove the Following Properties, and then click the SELECT ALL button. You can choose to create a copy if you don't want to lose properties from the original. I hope that works, lol.

Just out of curiosity, how long on average does each play last? and how long before they get to a 113 percent advantage? Obviously they cant get to that level daily.

I netted $7114. I ran off 25% in expenses. I got home with $5300 of the money. It's a piss poor showing and I'm all worn out.

I self-identify more as a ferret, but it's a common mistake.

I would never pry for details, but the 7k win for less than a month seems tolerable. Were you running bad on unusually good plays? If that's the case, it would seem to suggest strong prospects for future opportunities.

You mean Rob Singer and the IRS. I've got some pictures for Rob. Not only of Jackpot Aces. I found a game on four machines that look like a whopper of a keno game to me. Maybe !0% on a dollar bet and 40 games per minute. I think I have the math right. But I'm gonna have to put it up on WOV and see if I can gett the strong math guys to confirm I did it right.

I'll get around to it when I get around to it. I've got a bitchin' hangover. Luckily, my favorite watering hole is right next door. I think I'm gonna have to head over and take the cure. One more post and I think I will.

The last two towns weren't as good as they normally are. That's because new games were installed on some of the machines. When this happens it sends the meters on the other games back to reset, against the law in Nevada but apparrently not so here. Its something I go though occasionally here. It'll be a few months before I start getting plays on those machines again.

I should have hit the $10,000 mark, which would have put expenses at less than 20%.

One more post before I hit the bar. Thanks, Babs. When I knock things down it takes a couple months soak time for plays to redevelop. So i get to piddle around Great Falls for the restt of March and all of April. I get to do a little work on genealogy....and I think I'll put some stories up on WOV. Since I'm sober right now-and meaner than a rattlesmake when I'm drunk-I'll take this time to wish everyone a very wonerful day. Take care.

Still better than a 9-to-5 job, IMO.

I would enjoy the scouting aspect, but a Montana bar environment would be alien. Some of those towns are so small, I might not be able to buy a fresh pocket protector at any price :(

I agree. You know some guys have no luck at all. Bobby Darin agreed to do the role of Fast Eddie. Paul Newman had signed for it earlier, but had to give it up because he was contracted for a movie with Elizabeth Taylor. But then Cleopatra was running behind, so the studio gave the role back to Newman. But nobody bothered to tell Bobby. He found out about it when he overheard someone
talking about it at a charity horse race.

Bobby Darin was 32 when he found out that the woman he thought was his sister was actually his mother. The woman he thought was his mother was his deceased grandmother.

Bobby died at age 37. I plan on being twice that old this May.

Yes, that Bobby Darin " Mack the Knife "

Anyways, this is what a 13.5% edge looks like. Six years ago I had a couple dozen machines around the state with this payscale. Now I'm down to just one store. I know that the strong math guys on WOV will appreciate this payscale. You can see just below the payscale that it says "Bet $0.50 for progressive." The game comes in either ten coin nickels or two coin quarters. The payscale you see in the pictures is based on a two quarter bet.

I figure Axel will take a dim view of me putting up stuff like this on WOV. But I want the world to know something. For years I've been telling people that I don't make the biggest money in the business but I do work the biggest edges. Rob Singer has called me a drunken fraud for all these years. In a nutshell, the reason I'm putting up stuff like this is pride. I'm a proud man. The next time Singer calls me a fraud would you please show him these pictures.

The meter you see for Aces Full in the picture starts at either $10 or $15 on a couple of thousand machines in Montana. Percentagwise, the game is in the low nineties. Except for the game you see in the picture. I figure it's a technicians error. Jackpot Aces is an oddball Joker game by Summit Gaming. I doubt Michael ever heard of the game before I made it known.

I don't know the exact edge but $100 for aces full seems pretty damn sweet.

It's been about six years since I analyzed the game but off the top of my head I think I know all the routes to an Aces Full hand:

A dealt aces full, I think the frequency here is around 9900.
Three aces converts to aces full
Two pair, Aces Up, converts to Aces full. This is the quickest way. You'll see Aces Up about every 150 games and convert it every 24 draws.
Joker Full House with a pair of Aces is a break.
Pair of Aces
Pair with an Ace kicker
Pair
One Ace
Draw Five

I used Wolf Video Poker to analyze a lot of the game.

So the play is to dump the Joker with Aces pair to get the natural FH? But you hold the Joker/Ace dealt FH? I don't know what "break" means in this context; I'm taking it as long term neutral EV because you're throwing away 9:1 if you dump the Joker there. Thanks.
If the House lost every hand, they wouldn't deal the game.

Sorry for the late response. I went on a four day bender when I got home. It took me four days in bed to unpickel myself. I don't know why I put myself though that. I'm much better sober.

If you are dealt J22AA you throw the joker away. When you make the break the 22AA hand breaks down like this:

There are 48 cards left in the deck.

Two cards are an ace that pays 200 bets each. (A $100 meter equals 200 bets.)

Two cards are a deuce that pays 9 bets each.

44 cards are blanks that pay one bet each since two pair pays even money.

That's a total of 462 bets

462/48 = 9.625. Since 9.625 bets is greater than the 9 bets the Joker Full House pays I make the break and draw for the Aces Full hand. Since the Aces Full meter runs at 1% I'm frequently making this break when the meter is at $110, $120, etc.

Oh, it happens. As much as I drink when I do drink I would be dead already if I drank everyday. I give my liver regular breaks and I always eat well drunk or sober.
