For the non-believers EvenBob has Pm'd me in the past about his concern that Aces is seriously over betting his bankroll.

All I can say is losing 3500 at $200 a pop is the same as losing $90 at $5 BJ in a short period of time. We have all been there, done that.

Probably will regret this later, but what the hell. If you are too lazy to learn a real count, what do you expect ?

Advice?

Why not switch to the KO Count? I know nothing about the speed count, but the switch should be rather easy for you.
KO performance is just below Hi-Lo, and is much easier.

You probably know this already, and may have a good reason for sticking w/ speed count?

Edit- switching will not prevent massive losses though; I was crushed last 2 days.

Sooo, played a pre-dinner session...

I bought in for 3k...
Hit a good run and was up 500...
dealer then proceeded to get 7 blackjacks that shoe...
then dealer switch...new dealer got 6 blackjacks...at this point I was now down 1500
then dealer switch and got my proverbial a** kicked...down another 1000
then, the comeback trail was blazed
got back to the buy-in of 3k plus 100

Had dinner with my dad and now back relaxing

Trip is now +100

Nice comeback, Ace!

You know, I have a lot quicker way than playing BJ to potentially multiply that $100. One $100 pull, one time, and you know I have your back for $10 of that, so it's +ER all the way!

Then he is the only one. Unless everyone, including me, who has gotten poor comps from Revel table play compared to other AC casinos is lying. I know you are a Revel defender, but unless you drink the Kevin and UK Kool-Aid, you have to understand this is true. This is part of the reason why the tables are empty most of the time. Or is it the Unions and the Smoking Lobby keeping them empty??

And Ace, please keep taking their money or go back to Ballys if you are going to lose.

Start playing like Ace, and comps will be given to you. If you play $5/hand or 1 cent 1 line slot machine with cig dangling and your union badge showing no wonder you don't get any comps. And you know what? Most Revel haters don't lie - they just use hyperbolic exaggeration.

And now the truth comes out. I didnt know UK and Kevin had another brother, but you have their lingo down! I always said they will be the last 2 left still trying to make themselves think they are right when new owners take over, but now they have company. You have no idea how much I play or how many comps I get from other AC and Vegas properties, just as I have no idea how large you play. However I do know what I played, how long I played and around what that gets me at other properties, and Revel wasnt even close. And I am not even close to being the only one stating this. Do some research and you will see it, or just blame it on "Revel haters with hyperbolic exaggeration". All you need next is the "Non Gaming Revenue argument" to try and defend what has been a failure to date anyway you look it.

To believe that Revel is matching comps on an even playing is laughable when you talk to people that have the same story as me. But you keep believing people like me have a Revel bias and I will keep looking at the monthly reports showing them in 9th to 10th place with a property that should be in the top 2 in results. And then you can tell me why they are not getting any better.

As for Ace, I am sure they are taking care of him, as does any other casino for any player wagering at the level he is. So riddle me this, why are players at his level NOT at Revel?

And if you did know me, you would know that other than EvenBob, I am probably the most anti-union person on here. I also dislike Smoking and would love to see a Non-Smoking casino work. But Revel was no test case considering how poorly it has been operated.

And I am willing to make some results or longevity wagers with you on Revel with the Wizard or anyone else on here we can agree on holding the money.

No, they do not. The pedestrian traffic in AC is a fraction of that in Vegas, even with the boardwalk. This time of year it is cold and there really is no pedestrian traffic. That's not to say that there are not hookers, uhm I mean dancers available

LOL

I have a wife and kids, and Vegas is not the best environment for kids. I wouldn't take a vacation unless the kids could come along. I'm actually playing that MyVegas game on FB, and I noticed that some rooms are only 7,000 points if you don't book too far in advance. I have 3k+ points and have only played the game for about five hours, the Jules Verne slot game has treated me pretty well. I'm actually kind of interested in how far I could get for free between New Member FP and those Free Bet coupons. My wife said she is willing to go to Vegas for free and will actually join me in my pursuits, so that's cool. I'll probably come out there sometime this year for three-four days as I want to write something called, "Vegas: A One-Time Visitor's Guide," about my experience.

You're first time there you'll be so confused and in
awe most of the time, you won't be able to write
about it. For an adult the first visit to Vegas is
intimidating, I've seen it many times. You think
it won't effect you. Just wait.

It may or may not. I think the one advantage that I will have is that the casinos are my only concern for going out to Vegas, aside from visiting some WoV Members, should their schedules permit. With that in mind, I'm not going to get taken in with the shows or glitz or any of that bull**** as I wouldn't go to any of the shows if you paid me to do it. My guide is basically just going to be about EV/ER and things of that nature and essentially going on a 72-hour Blitzkrieg to see how much can be won while actually gambling $0.00 of your own money.

Bob I agree with you. I've been to Vegas probably 20-30 times and I STILL get overwhelmed. I've blown my weekend bankroll on the first day of the trip probably 30% of the time. I know mission said he would never see a show and wants to gamble for 3 days straight but that is borderline impossible. I used to feel the same way. Then I started going to Las Vegas with the girlfriend (fiancé now). She wanted to see a show, have a nice dinner, walk to the bellagio conservatory etc... And all that stuff is really a nice break. I'm not sure which member said it, but someone recently explained they never gamble on the first day. They let it all sink in so they don't get overwhelmed. I'm going to try that out next time I go.

It's not nearly as bad for kids as you'd think. There's lots of sight-seeing to do, and except for the porn-slappers (they're not THAT bad) its actually pretty good until quite late at night. some of the sights are probably actually better for a younger viewer (Mandalay aquarium, Treasure Island, Excalibur, Venetian canal, various rides) and there's the stuff outside of town that everyone needs to do (grand canyon, death valley). You could easily keep the family entertained while you're in Vegas for WovCon ]I[ ;-)

Vegas was designed to overwhelm your senses
and if you haven't experienced it, you have no
idea what its like. When we took our son in law
there for the first time, he almost had a breakdown,
it was too much for him. He had a panic attack
while we were driving on the Strip, I kid you not.
It was too big, too bright, too much of everything,
and he wasn't ready for it. What a wimp..

I don't know whether I will be on The Strip or not. It really depends on wherever the best Free Play offers are at, and then I'm going to have to figure mileage/time and do a lot of advance planning to make this as profitable (at a cost of $0.00) as possible. I suppose my only problem is the flight, right now, can't figure out how the Hell to get a Free Flight.

If the good Free Play is on the strip, then that's where I will be. If the offers stay the same with respect to 7,000 points, then I will either be staying at Circus Circus or Excalibur, wherever those are.

I've lived in big cities, though, so I don't really find crowds or hustle/bustle intimidating.

Oh!

I'm afraid I've never watched that show. I like some 90's sitcoms, but don't really watch repeats anymore. If I watch anything at all, it's either a Documentary or Sports...I even get News on-line or in the paper, but not TV.

I don't know if I will have the required number of points for the nights by WoVCON, unfortunately, and I am not paying to go somewhere that I can theoretically go for free. However, I will keep in mind what you said about the kids' stuff...although...that would basically relegate me to gambling during the times that I can already gamble because I would not gamble while the kids are awake...because if we are all on vacation...then I should be with the kids, not gambling.

I am taking this week off from AC to work on a brief.
You will all have to wait until next week to see me jump the canyon!
