then off to the big "R" for the rest of the weekend).
I sat down for my first session - at first, while the dealer was shuffling, it
was only me - then another guy sat down, then, right before the first hand,
2 other gentleman sat down, cigarettes a'blazin'...I proceed to get crushed,
losing the first 6 of 7 hands (and pushing 1) - meanwhile the guy next to me
could not lose (one seat away LOL) - so, when I lost $600 in 7 hands I called
it quits at that table - the guy next to me went on to bet $1500/hand and
was about $6000 up by the end of the shoe.
I proceeded to the next table and found out that CET properties are now using
pre-shuffled cards (no more washing) - is this new for 2013?
So the table was three people (including me) - I won the first 1 of 15 hands
(2 blackjacks and 2 double downs therein) - started pressing up to $200 and
ended up getting the $600 back plus another $1k
As it now stands, I am +$1k for the trip
(I am also anxiously watching the $25k hole card thread here in the forums - best of luck to AP)

then off to the big "R" for the rest of the weekend).
Resorts is a wonderful choice! Much better than...ah, I see...nevermind:-)
Good luck to you this weekend! I may venture over to AC as well to pet come cats and test the low-limit availability on a holiday weekend.

Let me know if you come to AC - we should meet up

Or worse, those rooms at ground level that used to be the Dennis Hotel a hundred years ago. The hallway jets off of the main corridor, between wild west and park place, so there is no security what-so-ever. You get the drunken bus people wondering down that hall looking for the bus lobby and everything. lol
Hope you have a good weekend Ace. Would be a shame if you took it in the butt again so soon after your 'procedure'. lol

I was in the Ridge a couple of days ago for old times sake. What's with the six lonely, roped off blackjack tables in the middle of nowhere?

Those tables were used for Blackjack tournaments after the Wild Wild West closed. Bally's no longer does any BJ tournaments.
one of my first threads on the WoV forums was about a fiasco in tournament management - read it HERE

Tournaments was my first thought especially since they are S17.
Up and down, ended plus 400
Trip is now +1400
Shoe started off down, but lots of low cards coming out - started pressing and hit some doubles - ended
the shoe +900
(nothing really of note to discuss)
Trip is +2300
Quote: Mission146Nicely done, Ace!
Thanks Mission - I know these session reports are not much to read but,
if they keep going like this - I will be happy to have boring session reports
for the entire weekend!!!

Is Bally's dumpier than ever or have they started cleaning or improving anything?
Quote: bwIs Bally's dumpier than ever or have they started cleaning or improving anything?
Bally's is Bally's - but, as I stated my blackjack career (lol) here, I will always have a soft spot for it.
I am going to relax a bit then scope out the scene at Big R
Quote: 1BBThe room that you play now has nine blackjack tables up from an original four. Does traffic support that on weekends? It certainly doesn't during the week. The two bac tables have been removed to make room for them. I also noticed that pit 2 now has some S17 tables. Too bad they're all no mid shoe entry.
I haven't been here since NYE - and there were no bac tables in there...were they put in there after NYE?
As for traffic _ I will let you know in a few minutes when I go scope out the scene
Lost first 3 hands with all low cards coming out
Speed Count was good so I pressed and won the next
4 hands and Speed Count went bad
so I left +700
Trip total is +3k

Somewhere Kevin and UKStages are sweating the loss. Beat them for 2K and they may have to shut the doors.

A pit boss I am friendly with came over when he saw me and said "Thank you for coming to Revel - did you happen to bring anyone with you?"
I laughed out loud and then thought that perhaps, he was being serious...

The employees there I have come in contact with have all gone above and beyond. From restaurants to the dealers to the Card Member desk, CZR properties could learn from them. And maybe the place would be better off if some of them were actually running it. I do feel bad for them because they see how bad it is. Most worked elsewhere in AC and all are used to be busier.
I just cant get past the attitude Kevin and UK have put out there since day one and I still get treated way better at Caesars. And I did play my normal BJ play average for hours at Revel once. No interest in going back until management changes.
Keep up the good work. Take care of your DAD. Unfortunately, Dads only come one to a customer !

Sat down and hit a horrible run (along with 2 of 3 other players at the table)
An argument broke out between first base guy and second base guy because
first base did not hit 16 versus dealer 10
and, of course, if he had hit second base would have won a bunch of times
Was down about 1k after 4 shoes then hit a nice comeback and got the 1k plus $50
Trip is now +3050

Well it seems to me many AC customers feel the same. Or are you expecting a turnaround under the current Management? Let me guess, you think I am a smoking zealot, pro union person who wants Revel to fail, correct? The Revel defenders never want to look at the reasons why they are failing and most have nothing to do with Non-Smoking or non-union labor. It's how you treat the Customer, period. And many customers dont feel revel has treated them right compared to other AC casinos. It really is as simple as that.
Ace may be the final straw for Kevin and UK if he keeps on this streak. And then Revel can realize its potential as a place for Gamblers, instead of a resort with a casino full of tables and slots with no players losing millions month after month.
Quote: bwAre there any other casino games that produce more arguments than Blackjack?
My God! Some of the ridiculous arguments I've seen...
I think one of the best ones was when I was playing Roulette and betting my typical $1.00 on Black-29 and $1.00 on each of the corners around Black-29 and nothing else. There was a gentleman there betting straight Red and criticizing me for making, "A stupid bet," because Red is more likely to hit than Black-29 or any surrounding numbers. I agreed that Red was more likely to hit, but nothing further.
Anyway, he just kept needling me everytime Red would hit and refused to pipe down. I calmly reasoned that the, "Stupid bet," was my playing Roulette to begin with, but stated that I enjoy Roulette. I went on to explain that the only bet in Roulette worse than any other is the basket bet, and then briefly explained that every bet in the game has the same HE of about 5.26%.
My answer was unacceptable, and somehow he decided I was calling him an idiot and he went into a profanity-laced tirade about how House Edge is a, "Myth," and everything comes down to probability of winning. I countered that even if I were to accept that, he would, "Probably lose," on any single one of his bets because of the zeroes. He argued that the zeroes, "Practically never hit," and are therefore irrelevant.
I told him he should write a gambling book and went looking for an advantageous QuickHits machine...

Yeah I am sure they are sweating my 3k win when they took 20k from me in December (the 20k I had taken from all the other AC casinos) lol

The mailing that arrived today looks amazingly similar to other casinos. That is quite a departure for the minimalists who design "the Revel feel."

Which mailing was it?
Ended up playing about an hour or so this evening...basically up and down, down and up, nothing
to write home about...
by the time shoe #5 came around I was down 500
neutral Speed Count throughout then finally caught some nice variance and got 2 blackjacks in the
last 5 hands and ended up +450 for the evening session
back in the room eating a piece of chocolate cake :)
Trip is +3500

Quote: aceofspadesWhich mailing was it?
The mailing with the cover showing the Sea Ray 210 SLX in the giveaway on Feb. 18. The interior has a lot of "deals," too, at least in Revel terms. Among them are some sort of "Dining Passport" involving the Forgione, Garces, Richard and other big-time restaurants, as well as the nightclubs; scratch-off tickets, "Lucky Red Envelope Giveaway" and Win a Trip to Hong Kong Famous Beach Giveaway. In addition are 25% off room massages and some comp peel upgrade in the spa. Of course, I'm probably not rated anywhere near your level, but they do mention that Pearls are comped two daily dining passports.
Gave back all 3500 I was up. In the course of 2 shoes, I lost every split and every double...
I was losing on all 19's
I lost 5 times when I had 20's
I had 200 up and split 9's for 3 hands and got 19 on each one versus dealer 8, she turns over a 2 then a 10
Three hands later I had 200 up again and split 8's against a dealer 6...got a 2 on the first one doubled got a 6...got a 3 on the second one and got an Ace...dealer turned over on Ace for a 17
Just on those two hands it was a 2800 swing

Advice...?
If you had a BR of 100K this is just a blip.
You bet too much for your BR so these
losses seem horrendous to you. You're
betting like somebody who has a much
larger BR, a very common mistake. Thats
why what you do is so exciting to you and
us here, its do or die every time you go to
AC.
If you had a 100K BR nobody would care how
you're doing, it would be a yawner.
