I draw your attention to the following line, taken from the Wiz's page on Baccarat:
Quote:

Mini baccarat has the same rules as the big table baccarat. However, unlike the game at the big table, the dealer turns over all the cards, making for a much faster game.

Note that last phrase. If it's true, I'd never want to play at a big table. The mini Baccarat table I was on was slow enough!

I went to A.C. this weekend. I took the bus, and got a $25 match play voucher when I arrived. For whatever reason, I decided to use the coupon at a Baccarat table. I never played before, and knew little about the game except what I had read on the Wiz's site. I knew that A: I should bet on Banker, B: It's a huge game with Asians, and C: Regular players love to write notes, to the point where the casino supply notepads and pencils.

So, like a guy wanting to wait to bet Roulette Red after a couple spins of Black, I go to a Baccarat table and wait for Player to win twice in a row. Yeah, I know past events have nothing to do with the future, but it was a 'feel good' theory. The first hand Banker won. The next two Player won. So I put down my bet and coupon on Banker.

Mind you while I'm waiting, I'm watching the other players furiously scribbling on their pads, and I'm giving the pit boss a quizical look. He's giving me the "These people are nuts" shrug.

So on the one hand I play, Banker wins and I leave a happy camper, while commenting to the pit boss that it's a stupid game. He replies to me, quietly enough so only I can hear it, "Yeah, but the Asians and the house love it!"

Then I checked the time to discover that those 4 hands took nearly 15 minutes! Holy crap!

I went an dplayed bac one time after reading the rules and noting to bet on banker thanks to this site.

I made 6 bets and left- won on 4 of them... it was simply the boringest game I could think of playing- it wasnt that slow for me, but GOD was ti boring as hell... oh look the dealer fliped over all the cards and this set won... I dont input strategy, I dont get to touch the cards, theres not even a frekin bonus bet- its the boringest game I could think of.

I know I like games that have high house edges- like I dont mind spending some time at let it ride or three card and of course I spend half my time at black jack and I enjoy slots- but baccarat does not interest me in the least.

It didnt seem that slow to me- I guess alot of the time was spent them jotting down the history?

with a coupon, youre better off betting on player than banker. similar situation with craps, youre better off betting on the passline than the dont pass.

heres the math.

banker) .4586(47.50) - .4462(25.00)

player) .4462(50) - .4586(25)
