I play PGP for the Progressive Jackpot. Someone hit over $300,000 at The Orleans and another hit over $200,000 at Gold Coast. I was at WinnaVegas, Sloan, IA, Horseshoe, Council Bluff and Grand Falls, Larchwood, IA. last week, I could not find PG Progressive. I asked the floor and no one could tell me why. Do you know why? Who (Shuffle Master, or the casino) pays the jackpot? players don’t like it or casinos don’t like it?

Iowa is kind of anti-progressive games when it gets right down to it. Caribbean Stud is gone from every casino, and Fortune Pai Gow has always been the game of choice in the area. This is also an area that understands Pai Gow Poker, as Horseshoe has three tables, two nearly always open, and Harrah's ALWAYS has one open.
People in the area know when the house edge is high, even if they don't know numbers. Three Card has taken a severe hit in the area, although the Million Dollar Payout 6-card bonus might bring some people back to the game. Don't be surprised if it fails in the area though.
