Would you fellow Craps players join me in this endeavor and request it as well.
Thank You,
Ben Jammin
however, not that important
Quote: DeMangoSo how come I don't see any of you on the craps boards?????
Guess I have not run across them, or did not like them? Wizard has a nice clean design here and the usually aren't any server sluggishness issues. If you have some specific boards I should check out feel free to PM them to me (I assume there is a board rule here about blimping other boards?)
Especially the part with which number is coming up next....wife and I have been in a slump the last three times at the Craps table. I've starting finding better odds beating other players in the poker rooms.
I'd like to ask the other craps players about comps though... I find it really frustrating when I lose my buy in (usually about $300) in an hour but the comps just aren't there. I'm a big boy and understand they're probably going to win, but how about throw a free meal to the guy who you saw lose $300 at 9AM and then go down another $200 at 2PM? Should I say something? To whom? Seems like if I put $500 into a slot machine they'd rack up enough for a free room and a foot massage!
Maybe it's just me...but even paranoids have enemies.
It'd be easier for us to click the "yes" button!
I'm all for the addition of the Craps category.

I am not sure how you play craps Woldus, but if you are playing the "odds" bet, you are not getting any action for that.
For example, let's say you place a $10 bet with full odds (3x4x5x) behind it. While you are betting an average of $50 per bet, you are only rated as a $10 player. To go further with this example, let's say you place a $10 bet with full odds (100x) at the Casino Royale. You're betting an average of $1010 per hand, but you are still only rated as a $10 player. I understand how this can be frusterating.
My suggestion is that when you are done playing a session, ask the pit boss or boxman what your rating was and how long you had played during that session. These numbers will help you keep track of your play.

This is most likely true, but depends on where you play. There's another thread on the boards here that lists casinos that rate the odds bet. I play mostly at the Stratosphere, in large part because they take pretty good care of me, odds bets and all.
Quote: kenarmanWe have had lots of good craps discussions without a separate section. A separate section would make it easier to go back and find them all or the ones you missed so I say yes to a craps section.
I agree 100%. Why do Blackjack players get a separate section and not dice players?

That's because BJ is like the "Budweiser" of table games...whereas Craps is more like "Stella Artois" - comparatively not as popular...but way more tastier!!
Some casinos have different styles, just as some players have different styles. In many circumstances its going to be important that you ask for a Comp rather hope one will somehow materialize. If you've handed over your card and have been playing in a rough accord with that particular casino's minimum bets for rated play, you should be able to get comps. Now its true, some casinos have rather firm rules about three hours or four hours of play, but if you've depleted your bankroll under their guidelines, then asking a host, a boxman, a floorman, somebody is usually a good move.Quote: WoldusI find it really frustrating when I lose my buy in (usually about $300) in an hour but the comps just aren't there.
Now if you are at The Bellagio or The Venetian and have played with ten dollar bets... you've probably not been noticed by their computer at all. Though you could talk to the Box and Floor. I've often been disappointed when I've asked for comps at check out and very, very pleased with what I've been given when I have NOT asked for anything at check out. However a meal comp for having had really bad luck one morning is the best thing a casino can do to cheer you up and keep you at the tables. I've even had a 25.00 meal comp under such circumstances at a Seminole casino wherein Comps are notoriously few and far between. It was a 25.00 off my meals sometime in the next three days type thing. The Floor gave it to me after I spoke to him. Now this particular comp was for losing my money at Blackjack, not craps, but the point is that I spoke up and asked for it. In some Vegas casinos that is a requirement. In others, its best to wait for your play to get into their computer system. Tuscany is considered to be quite generous but until your recent play is actually in their computer system you are screwed. Once its in their system, you can use it as you wish. Now at the Venetian its atleast Green Chip play AND for some strange reason, they sure like to see FOUR hours rather than three. Again, I've no idea why this is. Its just that if you really want Comps at the Venetian you are going to have to ask if you are under that four hour period.

The paranoids are after me!

they should be going by your expected losses in theory, not if you actually lose [or win], that is what they would say anyway
you probably should do the poll, you have to start a new thread tho
