I see $10, $15, $25 and up. How come casinos don’t utilize $20 BJ games?

Because they are greedy and like to upchip to green. But you can play a $20 game at a $10 or $15 table.

Depends what State you are in. I've seen $20 Minimums at casinos in PA but it's been a while.

I'm guessing one of the reasons is to prevent drunks and low rollers from waltzing up to tables with a single $20 Bill and playing One hand, win or lose, and wasting the casino's time for ONE hand or worse, winning & walking off with 8 red chips without coloring up.

Because there is no such thing as a $20 cheque*.

$10 makes sense because you just put 2 reds down. It is also an amount that the average player is comfortable with. They are getting rarer though. $5 are mostly no more. I remember even seeing $1 at Slots-A-Fun 20 years ago or so. But it is hard to grind a profit out at these limits. I hope $10 stays around.

Second, a guy who will bet $20 will bet $25. A guy who will bet $10 might not bet $15.

*Yes, I know a few places have $20 cheqes. They are an exception and the $20 might even have been some kind of limited edition cheque. Realistically there is no such thing.

AC had a $20 yellow chip.

It was used at the Bac table. That made it easier for the dealer to take out $1 commission. Now on $25 bets they have take out $1.25 commission and use quarters,

I know there are some oddball cheques out there. But mostly the colors and denominations are standard up to lavenders.

I used to play 20/40 limit poker with yellow $20 chips 15 years ago.

At casinos like Wynn they don't bother to take commission on the $5., $10., $25., $50. portion of a bet at least not in high limit. They don't even have $1. chips in the tray, let alone fifty cent pieces. I am not sure what they would do if someone bet $199. for example, but sometimes I bet say $1025. on the Bank with 25 for the dealer on the side, or say $505 on the Bank and 5 on the side for the dealer, so that after the bet is won there is another chip to bet for the dealer again, and they are not charging commission on that $5. or $25. portion that is part of my win.

Now at Resorts World Vegas they round up the bet to the nearest 100 then take commission, so you don't want to bet other than in 100 multiples there.
I tell you it’s wonderful to be here, man. I don’t give a damn who wins or loses. It’s just wonderful to be here with you people. https://wizardofvegas.com/forum/gambling/betting-systems/33908-the-adventures-of-mdawg/

You don't see $20 tables for the same reason you don't see $4 tables or $75 tables. It's close enough to the next chip unit that you don't gain any more players by lowering it.
