That's 8 times that 17 came up out of 14 rolls. So what are the chances of one number coming up 8 times out of 14 rolls?
1/35^8 = 4.44e-13, but that's the chances of it happening 8 times in a row. We have 14 tries, so that's where I get the dumb and can't figure out the next step.
(I have a picture of the Roulette board but can't post it until I get 20 posts. :P)

It is very likely the camera malfunctioned and registered 17 multiple times when in reality it was only one spin.

Exactly 8 times? That's C(14,8) x (1/38)^8 x (37/38)^6, which is about 1 / 1,700,000,000.
At least 8 times? That is the sum of (exactly 8 times) + (exactly 9 times) + ... + (exactly 14 times), which is about 1/1,668,600,000.
However, this wouldn't be the first time one of these displays malfunctioned.

If it did really happen, I'm sure bummed I wasn't there for it. 17 is my number on roulette (it's also my birthday.)
17 seems to be a popular favorite number in Roulette.

Casinos are not your friends, they want your money. But so does Disneyland.
And there is no chance in hell that you will go to Disneyland and come back with more money than you went with.

In this forum, I'd say it's a highly likely event to occur!

i knew (of) an old (apparently doctor - heard from rumors) - that would go around to each table about every minute or so and bet about 100 total - mostly on 17 and split 17 and 20 and scatter a bunch of chips around each split and corner
i once saw him win twice in a row on two different tables at once - yes i know its not necessarily allowed but during that specific night you couldnt catch the savannah if you were trying it was so crowded
