Started with $50,000. Bet $50 ante constantly so all other bets were 1X or 3X that much, played while watching a Boston mob movie, lost down to $32,500. So on a $5 table, that'd be a $1,750 loss.

That's about right for Mississippi Stud during the time it takes to watch a movie. Sounds like you probably didn't get any quads and definitely nothing higher.

I think I won 3 trips and missed 4 trips. Cards be cold. Would need a 4OK to get my money back.

Starting with a pair, at that.

I'm not gonna play the $5 table at the casino unless I have $2K to lose. They probably have a $15 minimum, so make that $6K to lose.

The best way to play Mississippi Stud is not to play Mississippi Stud. UTH gives you some chances at pretty big pays and a reasonable length session (assuming optimal strategy) is a virtual coin flip.

IMO, of course, but most of what you do in Mississippi Stud is chase bad money with good because it still beats folding.

You have to realize that the WoV game moves much faster than a live game. I would conservatively estimate that is it 25x faster. How long does a hand on the WoV game take? 5 seconds if you take your sweet time? Between the shuffle, the deal, waiting for players to wager, showdown, and resolving bets, I think you would be lucky to get 30 HPH in a live casino. So, your money will last longer at a live table.Quote: ChumpChangeI'm not gonna play the $5 table at the casino unless I have $2K to lose. They probably have a $15 minimum, so make that $6K to lose.
Personally, I like to play MS Stud on occasion because 1) I enjoy the ride -- typically at casino table games, you have to pay a premium for high variance, but with an EoR of 1.37%, MS is quite the value, beating out most, if not all carnival games. And 2) I like the freeroll aspect of it -- what other game lets you keep betting after you know that you are 100% going to be a winner?

Yeah, I like Mississippi Stud. I am, however, surprised at even the minor popularity the game has managed to achieve considering how much patience it asks of its players.
Losing ten straight hands of blackjack is frustrating. Losing ten straight hands of MS is ... well, Tuesday.

Have you tried 22 tonight? I said 22.
