So, instead I started this thread. If you are interested in hearing the idea, PM me. I may not respond. But I’ll tell at least one person that PMs me to get feedback. Judged mostly on my view of reading posts over the last few months of who is legit an AP and would have a view.

That's just as well, no orig AP
ideas exist anymore.
Quote: unJonI just had an idea for an AP play. As I don’t AP for a living, I suspect it’s either wrong or something that people already do. It’s also not a play I have interest in doing. I make plenty of money at my job (even though it comes with an alarm clock, I feel safe it’s more than I could make with this or another AP play). That said, I’m reluctant to pull a Wiz and publicly disclose, on the off chance I’m not wrong about the play and it ruins a current play.

It would have been easier to just pm those who are obvious AP candidates like Axel for example.
You can PM me and I may not respond either :)

He's not trying to sell discounted bus tickets. ;-)

I am certain its much more lucrative
Like walking thru hundreds of casinos checking for Ultimate X multipliers that probably were not left behind

If you PM me, there’s very little chance I’ll respond. If you respond to this post by me in your thread, I probably won’t respond to that either.
1) It would be illegal.
2) While it is an AP, there are actually much easier and lower variance ways to AP the same type thing. (But still illegal.)
I’ll leave it at that.
Quote: unJonThanks all. After PMing with two of you, the conclusions are:
1) It would be illegal.
2) While it is an AP, there are actually much easier and lower variance ways to AP the same type thing. (But still illegal.)

WHAT?
1) if its illegal none of the APs on this site (well from what most of us claim and for my part especially) are going to use it.
2) if it is illegal most of us APs would classify that a cheat move not an AP move. APs take pride in that distinction. We PLAY WITH AN ADVANTAGE BUT WE DO NOT CHEAT. (This distinction may be under the law only since casinos have their own interpretation of what constitutes cheating but its only the law any AP cares about. If the law is on our side thats what matters in a court room)
3) I have never seen an AP on this forum upset over the disclosure of illegal cheat moves
So why do you feel the move cant be made public now? None of us will use it if its illegal and if we do you are certainly not according to your OP
What you do in the casino would be legal. It’s what happens after. And I would be willing to wager that it’s the type of illegal that many APs on this site do year in and year out.Quote: darkozWHAT?

That’s all I’ll say. If the two APs I PM’d with want to say more or disclose my PMs with them, they have my permission.

Something to do with tax reporting requirements?

Hmmm... When I read unJon's reply, I had a different take.
The OP sez, "there are actually much easier and lower variance ways to AP the same type thing." If there were common elements in the "illegal move" and the (apparently legal) easier, lower-variance move, describing the illegal move might reveal info relevant to the other move.
My first thought was that unJon perhaps decided to reveal nothing rather than to (possibly) compromise an ongoing AP move. If OP's original move is illegal, why do we care anyhow?

His full response is that the much easier and lower variance ways to AP the same thing "(are still illegal)"
Otherwise I agree the takeaway would have been what you saw. But he added that illegal caveat in parentheses
I suppose in an Oceans 11 manner I am interested in cheat moves even though I have no intent on doing them.
I am also not certain his advice is correct since we dont know who or what he spoke about.
