I'm doing a review of Ace Gaming and came across a new pai gow poker side bet -- Lucky 8's.
As you can see from the review, the house edge is 45.15% (oooooooooouch!!!). If anybody is bored and cares to confirm/deny my numbers -- please have at it. I pretty much just had to tweak the combinations from Fortune Pai Gow Poker.
The question for the poll is would you play this side bet? Hopefully I've found one that even Barb would turn down.
Quote: WizardofnothingFunny that you put the stamps comment in the poll. A relative just passed away and left a treasure trove of silver coins and stamps- I was tasked with selling them and was shocked and how little stamps are worth. Must have been 10k in face value of first day stamps and what not and wasn't even worth 100 dollars -
I'm in the same boat with a bunch of stamps. I feel like they aren't worth anything but I'm afraid there's a diamond in the rough.

I inherited a stamp collection from a relation in the seventies. It looked like more of a sentimental collection than one with a lot of value. Still, I've always wanted to show it to a serious collector to see if there are any gems in it. However, I currently know of zero people who seriously collect them.
Also, when I went to the USSR in 1985 I had a lot of rubles left when I had to go back, and the currency didn't exchange with the dollar. So I spent a ton of money on stamps at the hotel gift shop, because they had nothing else I wanted. I bet they aren't worth anything, but you never know.
I would be interested in the silver coins. I'll definitely pay more than any coin dealer.

There were 34 black books of 50 pages each of all first day stamped issues from 1938 to 1970. The most valuable thing in there was a first state George Washington series of stamps ranging from 1/2 cent to 8 cents worth a grand total of 10'dollars for the 12 piece set
I did find some paper money in the envelopes so that was exciting
I'm slow....
Glad I never got into stamps. Did not realize the bottom had fallen out on them. Probably an interesting story there, as they used to be (50 years ago) the ultimate convenience in portable wealth. I wonder what happened?
I might make a seprerate thread but if anyone is interested I'm selling the coins .
I have a sister in law that has several thousand Beanie Babies, I kid you not.
On top of that, each one is like hermetically sealed in a plastic display tube, and every single one is on display in her house!
