With my luck, I seem to catch the tail end of the roll and 7-out. Oddly enough, the guy 3 to the left pressed 24, 48, 96, 192, 384, 768 and 7-out. Pitman seemed to get a headache at 384, but gave a big smile at that 7.
Its true: There is no reason the trend can't continue, its also true that there is no reason the trend can not end!
Quote: AsswhoopermcdaddyAfter watching 2 consecutive shooters roll numbers and sitting it out, I wonder what you would do, if a shooter rolled 6 consecutive 8s or any other point for that matter after the comeout roll. Ie, shooter rolls a 5, then six 8s.....would you place the 8, lay the 8, no bet, something else?

hmm? I never really understand the doubling of place bets, but I see people do it all the time. I usually just go up 6 every time.
The guy was probably pretty upset, even though he made money, when the 768 lost, however he couldn't of ever made much money, as even if the 768 would have hit, if he would have doubled again, he only would have made +128 from that bet, with a total of around $200.
Instead he made 24-(4+8+16+32+64) = $104. I guess that's not bad, but had he just went up $6 every time he would have made 24-(22+29+36+43+50) = $156. ie, he would make more by risking less.
Really the only time doubling pays off is if you have a cutoff point...I probably would have went back down at 96 or maybe even 192...
In the end, the house edge is the same, so I guess play however you want to play. Depending on the minimum of the table, he could have also made a little bit more once he was betting more than 6x odds.
I also don't get why the Pitman would get upset. Anytime someone gets real lucky at a table, it's always good advertising.

The guy look disgusted after repeatedly pressing his bets. Then again, he had about 2 grand in green ships in front of him. Net he made money, but doubling it again and again is just insane unless you have that cutoff somewhere.
Somehow the Pitman I always find to be pissed off when everyone makes money. Do they really care / get rated by their win/losses on the table? I suppose they might worry something is wrong if they keep losing money.
Trends are a love hate relationship. Gambler's Fallacy indeed. The guy to my right was betting the field on the last four rolls of the six 8s. Given his chip stack, he probably should have waited it out.
