Hi guys,

I see on Sic Bo doubles and singles pretty equally. That is a roll with the same number on two dice versus different numbers on all three.

A triple obviously counts as a double.

I was curious if anyone knew what the probability of rolling a double versus a single. Do not count the single left over when throwing a double(that is a combination of what would be a winning single and double bet is simply a doubles roll.)

Is it close to fifty fifty or is there an edge one has over the other for probability.

Thanks, Appreciated.

If by "single" you mean that all three dice are different, and any other result is a "double", the probability of a single is 120/216 (which is 5/9) and of a double 96/216 (which is 4/9).

If you are talking about a particular number (i.e. the "chuck-a-luck" bet), out of the 216 possible rolls, 125 don't have your number at all, 75 have your number on one die, 15 have your number on two dice, and 1 has your number on all three dice.

Per the Wizard's Sic Bo chart...

The odd of rolling a single number, i.e., 1,2,3,4,5, or 6, is NOT 50/50. It's 0.421296. The casino gets a house edge of 0.078704.

The odd of rolling a double is 0.074074, & the house gets a whopping edge of 0.185185

The house edges (Sic Bo, Bac, BJ, Craps, etc) are added up to tons of cold cash. Now you know why Sands at Bethlehem won $1,000,000 per day from gamblers of all races (Asian, White, Black, etc...).
I'm OK with Corps which pick and choose clienteles. Both insurance companies and casinos have the right to pick and choose customers. They may keep profitable ones and kicked out the rest. But, I'm not OK with a casino supervisor who says counting cards... is like stealing food from a buffet (a foodlifting offense), or video-taping a movie in a cinema (a piracy offense).

Wow, a whopping 40 holding %!

Thanks for the info. I didn't know that. I know the worst game was the big 6 wheel (i.e., 38 holding %).

If the Sic Bo players are informed of the 40 holding %, they would not play Sic Bo, perhaps they would switch to mini-bac games (11 holding %). The 11 % is surely preferred over 40% by the degenerated gamblers.

A Caesars dealer recently told me their hold for 3CP is 35%, and 38% for Let it Ride.

What Sic Bo bets have a hold of 40%?
Even a 180-1 specific triple bet is only 16.2%

House edge and hold are different things.

I saw this old thread about Sic Bo and thought I'd reuse it instead of creating a new thread. Although, I'm not sure how the admin feel about "gravedigging" threads.

At any rate, I'm headed to Vegas next week and I was wondering if they offered Sic bo there. Has anyone ever seen it there? I'm sure it isn't a popular game but it seems like it would be cool to play for a short time.
