Disclaimer: Alright so math is not my strong point (at least not by the standards here lol) So this question may be dumb.
But I am confused about the HE in baccarat. I know banker with 5% commission is slightly over 1% HE. But my question is this. The most likely outcome of any single hand is "BANKER WIN". So if you played one hand you would be more likley to win than lose? I understand commission and how that effects the HE. But I guess my question is if I am more likley to win than lose on a banker bet would playing one hand bet on banker, have a positive expected return since victory is the most likely outcome and I will not be there for future hands for commission to have an effect?

I'm not sure you understand what commission is. The commission is them taking 5% of every win when you win on banker. So if you put $100 on banker then you would win $95 essentially.

You have a die (6 sides). Make a bet. If the die lands on 1, you lose. If it lands on 2,3,4,5, or 6 then you win 1/100 of your bet. Winning is the most common outcome. Would you play this game?
Playing future hands or not doesn't matter.

Do not confuse payoff odds with house edge.
PLAYER bets pay off at 1:1 or as more easily expressed 20:20. YOU BET 20, You Win 20.
BANKER bets pay off at 19:20 YOU BET 20, You Win 19. (They pay you off at 20:20, but keep track of that dollar you owe them with little lammers the show the running count of the "commission").
Technically Banker is more likely to win,,,,but the numbers are so close that it makes little difference to anyone and absolutely no difference to the casino.

According to the WoO page on Baccarat, the house edge is slightly less on Banker then on Player. For that reason, the Wiz recommends betting on Banker every time.
