I posted in the Ivey thread but it was kind of OT. I am thinking about writing an article on the Borgata/Ivey lawsuit and a key component missing in the lawsuit is the number of hands per hour. Is it safe to say that 100 hands per hour heads up with an automatic shuffler is reasonable? Is that too low? Wizard of Odds website says 72 but I assume that is for a full table.

If you are talking heads up with no free hands, Mini baccarat, you can get 120 easy.

If you are talking midi bacc, where the players touch the cards (no shuffler of course) then I would say 70 to 80 but that could vary wildly.

I should have clarified. This was mini baccarat.

One on one with a fast dealer, I've gone through an 8 deck shoe in 15 minutes, easy could do 3 shoes inside an hour, so around 250 hands, and have done so if they let you bet both sides when you don't want to place a bet, or free hands is a doddle

If you are just playing by yourself with no one else at the table with unlimited free hands or allow to play both sides to move the shoe, just wagering on either banker or player and no ties, no constant change of chips/buy ins, an efficient dealer who can match your speed and you spend around 1 to 3 seconds on a decision - you can take down an 8-deck shoe within 20 minutes or so. Assuming ~70 decisions per shoe that would be around 210 hands per hour.

When you are allow to multi-table like a few casinos in Vegas like the Encore (not the Wynn) and the Aria, you can get up to 400 hands. Yet not something you can do often before your brain would be fried after that hour session. Only doable if once you are done you can head back upstairs to your room and crash for a few hours. Not recommended if you have to drive.
