Has anyone ever noticed fillers, props, or shill players who work at or for the casino. I first noticed this several weeks ago when an off duty poker dealer I recognised went up to a pit boss and said, "I am ready to be a filler, where do you want me?" I went over to BJ table and started playing. The poker dealer ended up at my table several minutes later. He bought in for $500 at a $5 table. He then proceed to make crazy bets and encourage other players to make bad bets. Double down on a 12 against a ten. I researched this and the internet sites say it is legal for a poker dealer to "fill" a poker seat to complete a table but I cannot find anything on other games. I felt very uncomfortable and left.

I would not play at this casino or any casinos this company owns.

I am going to finish off my comps and never go back to that casino. Many sites say it is a common practice in poker to have the house fill the empty seat with the paid employees, but other games I cannot find anything.

the Wizard probably would say it doesn't affect your odds at all. But I still consider it's kind of cheating by the casino. And if they cheat on this, they may cheat on other things.

I had it happen years ago, at a poker table in Vegas. It was my first trip into a casino, ever, and I sat down at a 5 card draw table. I wondered why no one was playing before I sat down, but again; my first time. 1993. I played a few hands, lost some money, every time I raised everyone folded. I cashed in my chips after 10 minutes and left, and they stopped dealing the cards. I was a little slow on the uptake; I figured it out about a week later.

It makes me wonder all these years of seeing people do crazy things at the tables. I just happen to over hear the conversation and then the dealer sat at my table. Does it really effect the outcome?
