The progressive used on Three Card Poker, Four Card Poker, and some other variations of poker went over like a lead balloon at Borgata. After being introduced with much fanfare, it has already been removed from some tables with the rest to follow shortly. Floor people and dealers tell me that players disliked it, dealers hated it, and it slowed down the game to a crawl with all the purchasing credits on the system and explaining it to the players. Borgata also got rid of the 100:1 mini royal payout on Three Card at the same time the progressive was installed, giving the players another reason to complain. Would be nice if they bring that back when the progressive is removed.

I had a series of email exchanges with them about it, maybe two each direction. Those were the exact points I made, that the bets were confusing and slowed the game down, that no one liked it, not the players and not the dealers. And it just looked and felt bad, it had no eye appeal, it was just pushing buttons, it wasn't sexy like throwing chips around is.

The last couple times we were down there, the general attitude of the players was, "if we don't play it, it will go away." Or even more like, "The only way to make it go away is to not play it." In the end the money talked.

A certain game inventor here would prefer not to burn his bridges. i always like arson, so I will say DEQ was more interested in promoting their Progessive than his game. He is now trailing it solo, with a Bally side bet.

Pretty much the same thing happened at Casino Arizona a while ago. They installed and removed DEQ's system. I don't know if they have done it yet, but I think they were going to bring in Galaxy Gaming Bonus Jackpot System.

Anyone been to the Borgata recently and can report on if the 3card paytable or the progressives have changed? I really miss the 50:1 payout on the SF... the 100:1 on the mini-royal was great too but the the impact on player return is much more significant with the payout change on the straight flush. Thanks!
