Hi,
I've got an interest in playing this game next time I go to a casino. I have been "practicing" online at different websites including the WOO. Have a few questions :)
1. How realistic are the online versions of the game compared to "real life" ? I can have two separate games open on my browser and using the strategy charts, the outcome is always wildly different.
2. Is there one online game that is more accurate than the others (software is only as good as the coder)
3. Some website strategies say not to play the Trips bonus. What do you think? I know the house edge is higher, but in my little simulations, seems like my losses are similar when playing or not playing trips, although the number of hands I can play when not playing trips is bigger.
4. Approximately how many hands per hour are played at real casinos? I usually have a max bankroll of $200. Not playing trips would probably increase the length of time I hold on to the bankroll, but my friends and I usually only play for a couple of hours (usually play 3 card or pai gow)
Thanks!
Kevin

You need the correct strategy from a reliable source.
https://wizardofodds.com/games/ultimate-texas-hold-em/
The strategy, if from a reliable source, is the mathematically correct way to play to reduce the house edge to it's lowest possible point. If you deviate from it you will increase the house edge and lose more money. Short term fluctuations are no indicator of the mathematically correct way to play.
With these carnival games you usually get anywhere from 30 - 40 hands per hour at a live game in a casino as a norm.

Thanks. I've been using the Wizard's "simple" strategy and have also tried strategies from:
and
Not sure which of three is most accurate. Also, what about the Trips bet? The Wizard shows odds, etc, but do most of you not play the Trips?
What about the online UTHE games themselves. Are they all pretty realistic? I don't want to practice on a website where the game software is somehow skewed towards the player or the house. I've been trying out these websites:

Variance is massive in UTH, which will explain your different results. It's naturally designed as a game of huge swings, especially if you play Trips.
Playing perfect strategy makes the Element of Risk about 0.5%. Trips bonus is about 3.5% HE, so if you're used to playing Three Card Poker, you won't mind those odds. Obviously your odds will be better without playing Trips. I personally play it because it adds to the enjoyment of the game and the cost is reasonable. It also gives me nice insurance when a 4-spaded board connects with my deuce of spades, for example.

Casinos are not your friends, they want your money. But so does Disneyland.
And there is no chance in hell that you will go to Disneyland and come back with more money than you went with.
