Decisions, decisions.....

I read the ideas. First, you should always expect people to disagree with anything. I would even argue that the sky is not blue.

I understand what you are saying and money management, having a plan, and setting a goal is solid advice that should be applied to every game.

As a blackjack player, how I play is almost 100% planned in advance because there is a proven basic strategy. The amount wagered is mostly planned in advance, and the goal is always get up from the table with more money than was used to buy in. Being consistent is important.

In Baccarat, I'll always bet banker. The game has a house edge, and therefor, betting banker allows me to ride that edge with the house. It boils down to winning more flat bets than you lose. For me. The other reason for consistently betting banker is that chasing a moving target, random or otherwise is more difficult than allowing the target to come to you. I know it's wrong to say, eventually the banker will win, but I have a hard time getting myself to believe it. Eventually "everything" happens. It's happened before and it will happen again.

The one thing about baccarat is that once the cards are shuffled, the game is no longer random. All the winning and losing hands have been chosen in advance. There will be no player able to change the order of the cards. Once you sit down, it's pretty much over and you are along for the ride. You can track the cards played and know what's left to be dealt and can even go deeper and know which exact combinations are left.

To add to your ideas, come prepared with a notebook. On the top of each page, list your goal. Then, write down A-K and get a note of the total number of decks. If you sit through enough hands from one shoe, you might even watch as all the 8's and 9's are dealt letting you know, there are no more naturals and you'll be looking for 3's and 4's to complete your hand.

I tend to look at the board and always sit after the cards have been sorted and placed in order. In today's casino, computers rule everything and with my number in the system, I can't trust the machine to be fair, and can't imagine a casino wanting someone to win.

All that a variance system is doing is betting on a future event based on those in the past. And given that you can't count a shoe, that method doesn't work. IT would be the same as seeing 8 reds and betting on black, knowing full well that your odds of winning black are 18/38.

Inotherwords, there is no reason after you see 8 banker wins that you would expect player to win. Because card removal isn't really trackable in bacarrat.

While I mightn't agree with your entire post, I do agree with this quoted portion herein. Baccarat is a closed-end, shoe game and, thusly, each particular shoe contains "characteristics", or trends, and it is my responsibility to await those imes where the trends are "barking loudly" (I'm going to open a new thread about that later today).

And, just as importantly, wroberson, you speak as a gentleman. Agree or not agree, it all doesn't matter nearly as much as when you state your opinions as a gentleman, first and foremost. Take pride, my friend, for it's a rare sight in a forum that tolerates the likes of our few resident fools (yeah, I said it and, yeah, you know who you are).

On the subject of the betselection forum.

Anybody recall the poster here called GlenBac (the self renowned Baccarat player and is the Haulage clean up business), I recall he set up one or two members here. Was bumped from WoV along with a subsequent few sock accounts.

He is the new owner of site mentioned above. A truly detestable, vile person judging by his posts on GF under the account GlenBaccarrat79.

What is notable is that this thread involves 4 different forum members who are now banned including three of the main people on this thread.

When you own a hammer, you think everything is a nail. When you have suspension/banning power, then you think everyone is a troublemaker.

So now WOV has Nathan-esque threads on whether slot machine displays should use serif or sans-serif fonts. I will definitely check out the betselection forum to see if they have interesting content - because that is all I care about.

The forum is named for a term closely associated with betting systems, so the content will be similar to this thread, except without anyone challenging the assertions.

Glen uses a different handle there, but you can't miss him. He's all over the baccarat discussions. The "partner betting" guy posts there also with links to his youtube videos.

The forum name has no bearing on the content, might as well rename the forum, to 'Glen's Ego', 'soapbox' or something, it just a platform for his child ego. He's nuking anybody that disagrees or questions him. He certainly doesn't operate on an adult level that's for sure.
