and just me and another guy were playing UTH...
The guy has a Jack high versus the dealers Queen high...
The guy is plastered drunk, but knows that he lost...so he asked the dealer "Doesn't a Jack beat a Queen?"
The dealer looks at me and asks me...(cuz they all know I'm a pro at the game) and I said "I dunno, ask the floor supervisor." (wanting to be stupid because the guy was so drunk he wouldn't have taken my word for it)
The floor comes over...dealer asks him...he walks over to my side of the table and quietly asks me...i say "of course the queen is higher...are you serious???"
He says, again, quietly, "Yes, I never learned anything but dice."
LOL!
seriously, now I know why they work in a casino...hahaha
Another thing too...but that's for another post..

I believe it. I've always said the people in a casino
who know the least about the games being played
are the dealers and the pit. If they could find real
jobs, they would. You have exceptions like Dan and
Face and Zscore, but they are the exceptions. This
is why I always made fun of Ahigh when he bragged
about how the pit is always asking him questions. Of
course they are, they have no idea what they're doing.

She had bugged you about it so much she had
convinced herself you made the bet. Very common.
I had a new dealer removed from roulette because
she kept sweeping off my winning outside bets, like
on odd or black. She did it every time and I'm
convinced she had no idea how to tell an odd number
from an even one, so she just swept them all and if
we protested she paid.

These people are the worst. For people who are new to gambling, these dealers turn them off immediately. So sad.

I've always wondered why roulette didn't use a lighted layout like Sic Bo. Too stupid to tell if a number is even or odd? Just pay all the lighted spots!

Roulette use a lighted layout like Sic Bo. (EL LuminAR™)

Yep, I noticed that many vegas casinos had it this last trip.
The lighted layout helps surveillance see that only proper payouts are being made so perhaps its not just the dealer who can't tell odd from even numbers. Or perhaps its a motivational question: low pay, low tips standing on feet, boredom.Quote: rdw4potusI've always wondered why roulette didn't use a lighted layout like Sic Bo. I’m not sure even that would help. I remember EB and I arguing with doubleluck over his Riverboat Roulette game, saying you want to absolutely avoid making it even an iota more complicated because people have issues with Roulette. He, understandably, laughed it off saying Roulette was idiotically easy, despite my insisting that Roulette was the casino leader as far as mistakes go.
I just had a guy last week pay $5 for every $1 bet made. He’s a dual rate, it was approved by both the Floor and Pit, and he tallied up $2,600+ of overpayments in just 15min.
Maybe all the pretty colors hypnotize folks?
Quote: mycranWas that at the Eldarado by any chance? on our recent trip there i was playing UTH and was badgered by the dealer to play the trips bet on almost every hand, which I didnt play. But a few hands later I was dealt a full house and the dealer paid me on the winning hand and paid off on the trips bet I didnt make. I might have said something except the way she kept telling me again and again you gotta make the trips bet. Too funny, colored up shortly after and left.
No...but I play there frequently, and I hear ya...over the course of a few days of play, I was averaging one Quad per 4 hours (20 flops per hour), and I always get cussed out for not playing the trips (but I'm the only guy coloring out $1000 every session, lol)

Sweet jesus! How long did it take you to call down? Were you able to get some of the chips returned?

I remember Leno had one of his man on the
street things where he asked people simple
math questions. One was count from 1-20
using only odd numbers. Most of the younger
people couldn't do it, they had no idea what an
odd number was. Amazing age we live in where
the average kid in 6th grade in 1900 had a far
better education that a HS graduate does now.

We weren’t watching that table, they called it up. It all happened in just 3 consecutive spins, took me about 45 minutes to sort it all out.
We asked for it back, he said “nah”. We asked “please?”, he said “nah”. And then he went on his way lol.

If it was a my regular casino I would give it back. If
it was in bumfrick somewhere, no way. The casino
never gives me back my mistakes. Ever.
