I've gotten to the point of being addicted to UTH...
But it doesn't help that the first weekend I really play it, I hit it for $600 (on a $5 flat bet!; 3 +$100 session & a +$300 straight flush session)
I really want to play it this weekend...but I know I can't really afford to spare any money, considering I'm going to VEGAS next weekend...
LoL, but then there's that part of my brain that says "But you made $100 everytime you sat down last weekend!"
haha, I may take a quick $100 flyer on it this weekend, just once..see if I can maybe win immediately (like $25 first hand win and quit)
UTH has been hampered by the crush of the financial crisis on the gaming business as a whole. Ultimately (no pun intended), I think UTH ends up with more "table months" of revenue through its first 15 years of existence than 3CP.
Did it come out in '04 or '05? So I am talking about where it is at vs. 3CP once we get to '19/'20 (as compared to 3CP's 1st 15 years from '93/'94 through 2008/2009). Be curious to see if Pacman can comment on the liklihood of that outcome (perhaps after the earnings release on Monday).
Quote: AyecarumbaI'm not so optimistic. Having to post so much money upfront makes it very L.I.R. like. I think this will limit it's lifespan. Houses that crackdown on players sharing hole card info will suck the joy out of this game too.
I don't think LIR died because of the three mandatory bets, I think it died because the hit rate is so low. 4 out of 5 hands were put up three bets, pull down two bets and lose. That gets old and boring after a while despite the lure of infrequent very high payouts.

You got it! I actually only REALLY played LIR because of the 3-card-bonus, because the regular payouts were so infrequent (if I played the 3CB, at least I'd push with a small pair)
The reason I like UTH so much, is I can ADD more money when I have a good hand (like starting with a pair, or two high cards, etc)
To me, it's similar, to if I could REMOVE money off of the passline at craps, after the point was established (Say I had $25 on the line, and then a point of 10, then take it down to $5 with $20 odds)
Gaming decided the side bet exceed a total bet of $5, so you could bet $4 $5 $5 and $1.
The only known time, I think, that playing a side bet, decreased the House Edge. LOL Gotta love Colorado Gaming Officials.
That same year the Isle had to tape a discard rack atop a Digjtal 21 Table.

Quote: PokeraddictIf UTH is so popular why is the video version of it dying? I think there is only one in Las Vegas now. Two years ago there were at least seven of these. Also, how many casinos have more than one install? I have not looked for it very often but I do not know of any with more than one table.
Yeah, I dunno. The only time I played UTH for real money was at Binion's when they had one of these for a $1 min ante. If I build up more of a roll though, I should consider playing this game to comp whore. But almost every casino I have ever visited in the last few years has at least 1 UTH table for a $5 min ante. That says more than most carny games.
It seems to me that there was at least a topic/posts about a "Cracked Aces" side bet... was that for UTH?

Aria definitely has more than one table. 3, I think.
