Got a question on bet amounts for LiR. Is it better to bet in equal amounts or better to bet say double or triple on the three card bet than on the play bets? Or visa versa? I'm not able to figure out the correct math on this. TIA

You should not play the 3 card bet at all. But, if you're like me and you get bored otherwise then it's best to see if you can find a table that pays 4 for a flush instead of 3 for a flush on that 3 card bet. That will cut the house edge on that bet from 7.1% to 2.1%.

For optimal play, it is better to bet larger on the base LIR bets than on the three card bet.
The house edge of the base LIR game is 3.506%, and on the three card bet it's 7.265%
You will lose more money on the Three card bet.

As for betting a small amount on the three card bet, I do, because of the straight flush and trips payouts.

Just think of them as two different games being played with the same three cards.

What is the Three Card Bonus pay table at your casino? If it is the usual 40-30-6-3-1, then Dan's math is correct. However, if you are at Borgata, where it is 50-40-30-6-4-1, then the house edge is only 2.14%.
