Quote: DGlifeDear Wizard,
Let's say you are able to bet either player or banker after seeing the first card every time. How big of an edge is it and how much money can you expect to win in the long run for every $100 bet(factoring banker commission)?
Interesting question. I would assume you would bet player if 8 or 9, and banker if anything else. I would guess you would have a 3 -4 % edge, and am awaiting someone who actually knows how to figure it out!

Our own teliot wrote a good article answering that question Baccarat: The Known Card.

If it wasn't possible, I wouldn't be asking.

Can you describe the circumstances?
I'm having a hard time picturing it. I don't pull any cards from the shoe until I've announced no more bets, and if someone tries to put one out after I've drawn a card, I call the floor supervisor and they tell them the bet isn't valid.

If it was an Ace, and you did not pull your bet back, be prepared for a stern lecture from Dan !
