Which would you rather play (Banker)?

Baccarat has a 5% commision. HE is 1.06%.
EZ Baccarat is commision free, but if the Banker wins with a 3card 7, then it's a tie. HE is 1.02%

EZ Baccarat has a slightly lower house edge thus my pick.
What's yours?

Also, whats the house edge on EZ Baccarat as Player since he cant lose on a Bankers 3card 7?

I am now counting dragon 7 for fun and (a little) profit,
But I prefer midi-bac cause I love squeezing a little drama out of those cards...

A past discussion is here
https://wizardofvegas.com/forum/gambling/tables/4130-question-about-baccarat-vs-ez-baccarat/

In SoCal the EZ Bac games can be found easily in a casino but not in the high limit areas.
There must be a reason.

I just like to tell people that play EZBac, my wife included, that the Player bet now has a higher winning probability than the Banker bet.
The Asians hate hearing that one.

I first saw this at Horseshoe SI and when I also saw that the player didn't lose to the bank three card 7, there just had to be a way to exploit it.

Do you mean the Player Bet or the player making a Banker bet?

When the Banker bet wins with a 3 card 7 (the Dragon 7) all players that made the Player bets still lose.

I have never seen it where the Player bet also pushes on a Dragon7 unless this is a special variant that certain casinos use.

The house would not have it's edge

https://wizardofodds.com/games/baccarat/appendix/6/
the Wizard's page missing a table?

EventProbabilityPaysReturn
Banker win0.436118-1-0.436118
Normal tie0.09506900
Banker 3-card 7 win0.022535-1-0.022535
Player win0.44627910.446279
Total1 -0.012374

I hope you do not think a player that makes a Player bet and the winning hand is the Dragon 7, pushes.
(That would give the Player Bet a 1% edge. Not going to happen)
No casino would always push the Player Bet on a Dragon 7
EventProbabilityPaysReturn
Banker win0.436118-1-0.436118
Normal tie0.09506900
Banker 3-card 7 win0.02253500
Player win0.44627910.446279
Total1 0.010161

All Player Bets lose to the Dragon 7, All Banker Bets push.

With all the fiddling with lammers and proving up of commissions and commission payments, Baccarat is dealt very much slower, so it is perhaps the preferable game. The ever so slightly lower House Edge of EZ Baccarat applies to very much more money since there is faster dealing and more hands per hour when there are no lammers to handle or explain to neophyte players.

Have you and a confederate bet table max on opposite sides but not always the same and rack up comps.

I would normally have responded that casinos are not dumb and that dealers and Floor Men will catch on pretty quick to any straddle play by people who pretend not to know each other. Now, after the recent Golden Nugget incident wherein no one but the players noticed the cards being dealt, I'm not so sure if casino personnel are quite so alert or not.

I've wondered if 100.00 Baccarat Straddles followed by 25.00 action at BJ really fools anyone. Or if the casino really cares since that 19:1 payout versus 20:20 payout still means the house has an edge.

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but would having the Banker and Player HE's closer together, say within .005% make baccarat more enjoyable.

I feel like an idiot making the Player bet with the 0.175% higher HE, so I sit there and let the math dictate my play and as a result only bet Banker when I play. I just sit out a hand if I feel the Player bet will win that particular hand although I knwo I can't really "feel" anything that is actually going to happen. Does anyone else feel like that in bacc? Or do you just disregard the higher edge on Player and bet it when you think it is going to win the hand?

Here we are discussing a .04% difference in the the Banker bets of Reg. & EZ Bacc, so maybe they B/P house edges would have to be equal before players would change their bias from normally betting Banker.

"let the math dictate my play" is undoubtedly pure music to the Wizard's ears. I am often known as "Mr. Banker" for my slavish adherence to that ever so slight better edge. Lots of shoes turn out to be Player heavy though. No matter what anyone "feels".

Good place as any to show my 1 million shoe simulation results. 8 deck

The -5 means the Player won 5 more hands in the shoe than Banker.
The average is 1 (1 more Banker win than Player)
2 (Banker) looks to be the mode
0 looks to be about the 3rd highest outcome.

The cumulative table showing about 43% of the shoes have more Player wins than Banker.

Looks like about 1 in 100 shoes the Player dominates the Banker by at least 20 more wins.
I saw one of those once.

All the Asian players lost big time, they were cussing out the Dealer, me cuz I'm white, my wife because she married me??,
the casino,
but they hit a Banker win streak at the end of the shoe (I think it was 5 or 6)
and that proved to them that the shoe was set to favor the Player bet.

Great comedy happens at Bac tables.

EZ Baccarat has a slightly lower house edge thus my pick.

Ditto for EZ Pai Gow.

Both EZ versions have a slightly lower edge.

But, particularly with EZPG, since you're not screwing around with commissions on every win, the game runs faster.

Hands per hour is more important to a casino than that very slight loss of edge.

Although I don't play Bacc, I do play Pai Gow Poker. In both cases, I prefer EZ.

The cumulative table showing about 43% of the shoes have more Player wins than Banker.

Then why isn't the Banker edge Seven percent?

I know this is an old thread but FWIW, I prefer EZ Bacc. The house edge is lower and it avoids the miserable moment in regular Bacc where you lose and have to pay more money to leave. That’s just disheartening.
If anyone gives you 10,000 to 1 on anything, you take it. If John Mellencamp ever wins an Oscar, I am going to be a very rich dude.
