The sharps, or expert bettors, love this time of year, and most of them weighed in on football teams weeks ago. They view the early-bird point spreads as a money-making opportunity. Because only two Las Vegas sports books—the Golden Nugget's and the M Casino's, run by Cantor Gaming—offer the betting lines so early, and because so little is known about teams at this early stage, knowledgeable bettors say there are under- and overrated teams to be exploited.

I agree whole heartedly. I believe we touched on this last year Flea (at least I think it was you). I firmly agree that there is alot of value early in and before the season. This is especially true in the college game.

Thats because in confusion there is profit and when the only information is rumor and press release and sheer whimsical puffery the sharpie gambler can cut thru the "BS" and know what is more likely to happen. I didn't post this thread because of any thing that was particularly new or unique in the article, only that it was from the Wall Street Journal and therefore carries an aura of real clout and significance to it.

Yeah the M seems to offer some really great plusses. You can say its off the strip but that can be a real advantage some time. Great comps there and real good booze.

You can also get M lines at the Cosmopolitan, Hard Rock, and Tropicana. See my sports betting appendix 3 for all the sports book groups in Vegas.
