Late in the Sunday Night Football game. Second year quarterback Jayden Daniels suffered a terrible injury. His arm gets pinned underneath him and his elbow bent backwards - the opposite way.
The brilliant young NFL QB, one of the more exciting new players in quite some time. OMG. Will he ever play again?
Hopefully after a lecture from his old high school coach! That left arm should have been protecting the ball as he goes down, not trying to break his fall.
While an elbow can't easily be popped back like a shoulder, it can be done by a Doctor, of whom each team has several on the sidelines.
Quote: billryanA dislocated elbow? Thirty years ago, he'd have missed a series, recieved a shot or two, and carried on.

No way. When that happens to an elbow the ligaments also get torn or stretched so bad they're going to need surgical repair. Technically a sprain, but a bad sprain is often worse than a minor fracture.
Left untreated, a dislocated elbow can result in extensive damage, but his was treated almost instantly. It looks terrible but it isn't that bad.
Quote: AutomaticMonkeyThere's no way an elbow got twisted that bad without a fracture or ligament tear. And we know what happens to a pitcher who tears his ACL- we will not be seeing him on a mound again for one calendar year minimum.

Not if it isn't his throwing hand. He might need to get his elbow scoped after the season but he'll be fine.

Having seen the results of these injuries, there is no way any of us will be given the needed information to really know how serious it is. I would be stunned if he plays football before next season, even if it’s as ‘good’ a dislocation as possible. And even if it’s a ‘bad’ one, it is unlikely it’s a career ending injury since it’s his non throwing arm.
The injury that might be career ending is sadly Skatebo’s dislocated/broken ankle. Ankles surgically repaired always seem to have some degree of decreased range of motion. Not a big deal if you are just needing it to walk the dog, but a big deal if you need it to avoid a 320 pound lineman who wants to slam you to the ground.

I'm afraid we have seen the best, if not the last of Mr. Skattaboo. However, he is one player who might prove me wrong
