Something I thought I could contribute to this forum is making a -1 line in the NHL.
You look at the board and see Canucks moneyline -130, and Canucks puck line -1.5 at +200. An alternate way to bet this is to combine the two lines. To get a Canucks -1 line you would bet 130 dollars on the Canucks moneyline and 100 bucks on the Canucks puck line.
If the Canucks lose you save juice. (I think the -1 line would be approx. +130)
If the Canucks win by 1 you win your moneyline bet and lose your puck line bet. A push
If the Canucks win by more than 1 you win both bets netting a profit of 300 after your 230 dollar investment.
I'm not sure this a popular bet and very few people bet hockey but I think its a nice angle when you see a big moneyline favorite.
