The game (7 p.m. Eastern on Fox) is being played in Dyersville, Iowa.

If I remember, I will watch for an inning or two.

Watch the movie tonight/tomorrow and the game may be more interesting...

That won't happen. I hate watching movies. I am still watching recorded episodes from the Olympics. Hopefully I will get to the wrestling events tonight.

Quite a marquee pitching lineup.
Heaney gave up four homeruns in his first Yankee start. In his second start, he gave up another in the first and Stanton made a great catch to prevent a grandslam in the second. He did settle down after that but Boone wears his brown pants when this guy pitches.
I hope this field has big dimensions.

Heaney has not been great, reminds me a bit of Ja Happ...decent but not good enough. The Yankees need some left handed pitchers to get some outs.
What should the o/u for home runs be in this game?
I love it when they have hockey games in football stadiums.
I wonder if they'll ever have an outdoor NBA game.

There have been outdoor NBA games. I remember the Dallas Mavericks playing one about 10 years ago.

Thanks for the factoid! It was a preseason night game, but I still think that's awesome.
I'll set the DVR for tonight's Field of Dreams game right now!
RF is 4th shortest.
No fence in OF. So tons of ground rule doubles.
Over 9.5 is a lock, right???
Quote: mwalz9LF and CF is shorter than any MLB park.

I'm not convinced. How many balls hit the wall in a typical major league game? There are rarely any regular ground rule doubles in a game, so this one shouldn't have more than 0.5 as an over/under.

I would lean that way.

I'll take that over, for a dollar.

Hard to predict a total for something never done before. How good is the lighting gonna be? Are the batters going to be able to pick up the ball with the blackish barnlike batter's eye? Hard to know, but we will find out...

I like the over a lot. Biggest scare for me is Lynn has been really good. I still think 9.5 is low!

$220 on over 9.5 full game.
$220 on over 5 (1st 5 innings)
Thats a 2 unit bet on each for me as my usual bets are in the $110 per unit range.
8 runs thru 3!
Nice pick!Quote: mwalz9Well...worst case Im out the $20 vig now, but I like my chances!
8 runs thru 3!
Easiest $400 I've ever made.
Great 9th inning!
Quote: gordonm888Why did Yanks leave Heinie in so long?
Great 9th inning!
The Yankee pitching staff is in shambles right now. This was their 17th game in 17 days, and four of their starters are out. Yesterday, the Yankee bullpen went all nine innings and todays starter had to go five innings or they'd have had to use a position player.

----------
I had a number of ideas for future games:
-Move the date to Father's Day (June).
-Rotate the 2 Chicago teams or St Louis as home teams.
-Play a double header with 4 different teams and 2 games.
-Play the All-Star game there.
----------
My top 3 baseball movies:
1 - The Natural
2 - Bull Durham
3 - The Bad News Bears
It has quite the cast in it, and features the Yankees minor league team in Staten Island. Their ballpark is a natural amphitheater on a hill overlooking NY harbor and offers the best views of any ballpark I've ever seen. It's a short walk from the Staten Island ferry and should be a must see for every tourist who likes baseball.
The movie tells the sad tale of a Bronx native who gets in a stupid fight with jealous kids from his neighborhood and one of the kids dies when his head hits the curb.
Released from prison after 18 years, he takes a job with the Yankees to be a personal advisor to a troubled young star in the making while trying to pick up the pieces of his shattered life.
It's not a great movie, and I give it extra props because it is filmed on location in the Bronx and Staten Island, but it is an enjoyable movie.
Lots of cameos by Yankees like Brian Cashman, Bernie Williams and Ray Negron, and former MLB closer Brian Wilson( slimmed down and beardless) plays a version of himself.
