Just a complete mess. I took a mega-longshot to win the National Title. Let's see if anybody can guess -- they were 100-1, and I think they are 50/50 to go undefeated in the regular season.
Quote: redietzWell, the Clemson QB went from Heisman favorite to third choice, all because he got Covid. Some teams are still refusing to report how many and who have covid before kickoff. And here's one that could well work in my favor. I took NWestern at 200-1 to win the Big 10. Now they have no chance against Ohio State or anyone else in the other division, but I could make a case that they can beat anybody in their division except Wisconsin. So now Wisconsin has to cancel a second game, and if they lose another one to covid, they are ineligible for the title. That would put NWestern in the driver's seat in that division. LOL. What a mess, but at 200-1, if NWestern can have their division come down to one outcome, I make decent money.

Cincinnati?

No, but I wish I had them. Well, maybe not. The NCAA doesn't like writing checks to non-"Power Five" folks. Cincinnati is great, and they figured to be great.
Cincinnati is actually my classic kind of team to take, to be honest, and then they get royally screwed when it comes time to divvy out the playoff spots/checks.

Unusual year of course. I can easily see Cincy as 4th team after Bama, Clemson, and OSU. Since no out of conference games it is not as clear that Cincy’s conference pales in comparison to SEC. I think OKLAHOMA conference gets zero. And only if undefeated does PAC 12 team have a chance.
I am no fan of Cincy. I remember when they had an entire decade without a single scholarship basketball player graduating.
Can you bet on them making the championship 4? Get 5-1 odds or so?

Since folks are betting each other about who can win at what in other threads, I thought I'd bump this post.
How 'Bout Them Wildcats?!?

Which Wildcats? Villanova? Kentucky? Weber State? Kansas State? Davidson? Northwestern? I know there are more that I am not thinking about.

Arizona Wildcats lost their rivalry game to ASU 70-7. I'm guessing a few heads roll.

Arizona did fire their coach after that game.

Oklahoma's conference, the Big 12, won all four of its bowl games. Just saying, the conference comparisons are hard to make.
True. The SEC and everybody else.Quote: gordonm888Quote: SOOPOO.

The other effect that I think might be long lasting is how a lot of house rules now have games "where ever played". Before, if the location of a game change, but was still played on the same date, it would be no-action. Now, because of the constant threat that college campuses might have to close down or not allow any visitors, bets stand even if the location changes. I don't see any reason why they would change back to how things were before.
Usually, if you bet a game and it is played the same weekend (or even Monday), the bet stands. I had bet one side early in the week, and I expected the wager to still be live. But the offshore where I bet it canceled the wager as soon as the 24-hour delay was announced.
I'd never experienced that before.
Quote: redietzI ran into something a couple of weeks ago that surprised me. A college football game was moved from Saturday to Sunday, and I think the move had more to with the weather in Texas than Covid.

I was under the impression that games bet in Nevada had to go off the posted date for action.

I haven't bet serious money on a single game in Nevada for several years, and those were Super Bowl wagers or NCAA tournament bets. So I honestly do not know.
In Nevada book-sponsored football contests, I do know that if the games are played the same weekend, the games count, but if they are moved beyond Monday, they get vetoed.
I will send a message to South Point later and see what they have to say.
