To the first point. Yes, both you and Axel are adult enough to spar with each-other, but even jokey personal insults can lower the tone of the forum, so I continue to ask you both to be courteous.
To the second point. We can never absolutely know that a member doesn't have multiple ID's, but i have no reason to suspect that he has, or has ever had any other ID.

It's clear nobody is interested in the "bid" approach so I'll take it off the table. I have to say I'm a bit surprised as to me this seemed equivalent to selling the promo rights. Suppose a casino offered you some sort of risk-free promo like this that was potentially worth a couple hundred bucks but you had to actually be physically present at the casino. Would you pass on it because of the transportation costs (a bus ticket or gas money depending on your mode)? For much less than the x-port cost, everybody has passed on the opportunity. So it goes.
I am therefore going to make a new offer. Think of this as a no-risk cash prize going to whoever can demonstrate the best record picking winners over a fixed time period (e.g. 6 weeks). I propose the following rules:
- To compete, each week, no latter than Friday(?) noon, PM me 4 picks for the coming week. Any sport and any bet so long as it settles in the next 7 days.
- All bets will be treated as "virtual" bets of the same amount (e.g., $110)
- At the end of the I'll post the results for that week
- At the end of the 6 weeks, whoever would have won the most if the bets had been real, wins the competition
Winner get the following:
- The right to select a bet of up to $250 that I will then place using my Borgota promo. If it wins, they get 90% of the winnings. The remaining 10% will be used to buy drinks for forum admins the next time there is a WOV social event.
- Bragging rights

I certainly have the tools(multiple VPN's 10+ computers, accesses to a server, computers out of the country ), some ability, and knowledge how to make and hide multiple accounts. And I'm always trying to learn how best to hide who and where you are on the internet. And all that from the comfort of my home. So, it brings a smile to my face knowing I'm in your head and you think I have multiple fake accounts. I seems all too obvious when you go to the craps tables, when you are at work, or just sitting there chilling... you are thinking of me. My understanding of sports betting (basically total ignorance) is that the bets offered and the odds (e.g., spread?) on a given bet may vary from site to site so I propose limiting wagers to those shown on Brogota's Sport Book.
My understanding is sports bets are usually made in multiples of $11, correct? If so the $440 limit makes sense. I was thinking a fixed amount per bet but maybe setting a weekly budget limit makes better sense and is more realistic. That will let you increase or decrease a given bet. Only limitation will be 4 bets per week for a total of $440.
As to when the window opens, it would be nice to get a couple more participants first but everyone else seems to be lots of talk but no action to back it. Let's say we go with the 1st Monday in July as the start and then have 4 betting cycles (Monday to Monday) ending on July 29th. If nobody else joins, it's just you and me. My strategy will be to randomly pick 4 underdogs per week.
