I see where there is a pitching change in the Oakland game. I read where Sonny Gray is going. I assume that the line will move up but I haven't seen anything. If needbe, I'll make an adjustment, but Oakland is the pick.

Just as an FYI, the picks labeled as "Focus Picks" have also done well. The total number of these picks has not reached, in my opinion, a statistically significant sample size. The +130dogs have reached a statistically significant sample size. The "Focus Picks" this year are 5 and 2 so far.

So in 11 days I've turned an investment of 2,085 into 15,553. It almost seems like I should stop for the year. Yet, today 3 of the larger bets are ahead with the 4th. one just getting started. Still very early, but wow. Can't stop.......

I have to use friends that can get to a casino when I can't

How do the pros handle money management? I have never been into sports betting other than a wager here and there.

Do they set a unit price and then bet in increments of that? So if you set your unit price at $100, you would bet 700 on your 7x and $100 on all others. Or do you bet enough to win your unit price. So on +200 you would only bet $350. I have always assumed if the line is -120 you would bet 120 to win 100 but if you are basing it on a unit then would you just bet the 100 as your unit price.

So say you go 9-0 on a day, would the sharp keep their unit at the same or increase it right away. I always wondered about these things.

I see that on the -120 you lost the loss as -120. Does that mean you would have wagered 120 to win 100 and not 100 to win 82 or whatever it would be.

Do you plan on changing your base unit or will you just keep it the same all year and drop or raise your units.

Yep. You're laying 120 to win 100. Sorry that I didn't explain myself very well. The base is 100, but if I'm taking a favorite laying 120 then that is the amount of the wager. 120 to win 100.

So we just had our 2nd. losing day on the +130dogs and I thought I'd take a look at last year. Last year, on this date, there were 5 losing days for the +130dogs. However, then we reeled off 9 consecutive without a loss.

Yes thats where l have been, weather fantastic here at the moment. Thanks to your great selections lm still ahead. the all winning round is a great bonus when it comes in. That one or more times it wins it becomes next season bankroll automatically. Ten game legs not often to win .Nine Eight etc so l have been having mini winning rounds already. On a nine leg day like 15-04-2016 l had 5 tickets out . Outlay $50.00. The nine lost but l had a win on a 4 leg which returned $25.76 x $10 = $257.60 .So all good... Note to be fair not all days do the a) all or b) any of the mini rounds win.. I do get one mini or two every few days l mix and match as we go .I do cover my bets with straight out bets and so far here this year still ahead.
I also do the same for nfl , nrl, tennis, ice hockey, soccer and cricket. Soccer is harder but have a return that finances next season. etc. By the way if the nine leg came in that day on this occasion l would have made $1306.42 x $5.00=$6532.31 not bad for all your hard work and effort you do with your selections. Would like to know if you can do selections for nfl ice hockey and basketball also. Once again Thank You. have a good day.

Hi beachmonkey, great to hear. I don't do NHL. I am working on an NFL algorithm which has proved to be OK. I also am working on an NBA algorithm, which has just sucked. But I am hoping that a tweak here and there gets me to where I want to be on the NFL and NBA.

I edited my post and added a question.

It's not remorse about not winning or losing it's giving up value (assuming there is some).

It's like getting a worst line than your friend just got. Even worst when they rub it in.

BBB got 4:1 on nugget challenge and that irked me I didn't get that even though I still liked the bet. I only bet $50 but had I got better than 3:1 I would've et more.

Sorry but wrong wrong wrong. If you are betting for bragging rights you will lose more money than you win. If you only concern is 3:1 or better before you bet or not bet then you are missing the the aim of what Steeldco is doing or rather the whole objective of this exercise. Limit your loss and make money long term. You are getting a FREE RIDE here, re selections, and you worry about ONE losing day or thee or five. One losing bet. This is long term AND YOU WILL MAKE GOOD MONEY. MORE MONEY THAN YOU STARTED WITH. You are not to late to start, this is not about instant gratification today but what it buys at the end of the season, THATS A HELL OF A LOT OF INSTANT GRATIFICATION. This is the first month of the season four more to go, thats 2000 plus games . Yes you may not have made as much if you started early, if thats a concern then this is really an issue now ,because you didnt start last year or the year before, etc. it is not an issue.... Im not from USA and know nothing about baseball, who is the batter or pitcher, I have no biais as to who should win or not win . I dont care who they are. I only see a perfect situation of team A and team B, one will win AND one HAS to to lose, I can bet favorite or use Steeldco underdogs. No emotion on this they win thanks they lose thanks tomorrow I still have the allocated portion of my season bankroll to have another bet as per My betting style. Read back over this years posts and last years post and you will see a fluctuation, think it through and apply what you read to money management and have a bet . start small . Really , its like paper trading on stockmarket before you actually are ready to trade with real money in real time.. Like I said the object is to make a profit. It does feel good knowing at the end of the season you have made money and can finance next season from this seasons winnings. Axelwolf no disrespect intended or implied. There are many here in this forum Im sure can steer you in the right direction re realistic starting bankroll, realistic bet size and a comfortable money management strategy . Im awake until midnite or 1 am to get these selections from this site. {{the time stamp on this post says 6;50 am but here its midnite . just a note. }} Yes on a few occassions Im unable to get the selections in time, ie Im asleep. And yes thats a wining day missed a bit sad ,but I know from my betting history across a few different seasons one day or two is no big issue, Do your own betting, open an online account if you can. That way you can see you progress and not worry that someone else misses placing the bet today which was the winning day etc. That has been my expernce a few years ago, now I place my own bets and if I miss the bet for what ever reason then its my own doing.
