Just out of curiosity, are you at all familiar with how difficult it is to bet the levels you are describing? In Vegas, a good sports handicapper will end up being banned or bet restricted, just like other advantage player. If he is a consistent winner, the casinos don't want his action. Then he has to resort to using 'runners' to place smaller bets, spreading his action out all over town. It gets to the point that just getting the action down is the difficult part.

Sorry if this is a bit off topic but do any of the experts here know why this is the case? Why should the casinos care if someone is a winner? It seems to me that the situation is more like poker. The casino has a guaranteed edge as long as they set / move the lines to get balanced action. Is it just that they get greedy and take way too much action on one side? In poker the fact that some people win is great for the casino because it perpetuates the myth that anyone can win, bringing more customers into the poker room. Why is the same not true for sports?

PS I realize that some bets such as the popularly discussed parlay cards don't allow the casino to balance the action, so I understand why they may want to limit their exposure. Those are more like a promo.

In poker the casino makes money on rake. They don't care what action people have as long as there is action. In the sportsbook they want the same exact action on both sides and make the money on vig. If someone comes in with 50k on one side they need to get 50k on the other side as well. It may be difficult to get 50k on a game like div 2 basketball. Sometimes they don't get it evened out and take a bath but they try to minimize that happening.

Also from what I have seen casinos are just as superstitious as we are. If someone touts a 65% win record and is consistently winning money, it is easier
for a casino to cut losses (I'm talking high high rollers) than wait for a person to choose wrong. 100% personal opinion and I do not work for anything in that industry or related. Take it for what it's worth bur that is what I would do.

From here on out the first account will be Acct 1 and Second Acct 2

Acct 1:
Thunder ML/ Iowa State ML parlay - 165 pays 266.
76ers+8 (bought 1 point @-130) - 260 pay 460. (building up just a tad more after that 650 loss then back to double ups.)

Acct 2:
Clippers -1 - 88 pays 168

As I write this post the 76ers are down 2 points in the third quarter, so you may or may not win this game.

But, as a 76er observer (can't say fan, but I lived in Philly for 8 years and have a soft spot for all philly teams), I am very curious as to what would make anyone looking at this team, 1 win 21 losses, 0-12 on the road, coming off a 51 point loss, and think these guys look like a good bet tonight? :/ Yeah I get the Nets are also a bad team. Did I mention the Sixers are 1-21, coming off a 51 point loss? LOL.

They don't necessarily want balanced action, from what I understand. They are often unbalanced on particular games.

If you ran a casino that let people come in to flip coins and pay juice, you wouldn't really care that much if lots of people were picking tails because "tails never fails."

If someone could manipulate the toss and win enough to beat the juice, you'd probably just ban them.

Of course, in sports everybody is betting on the same coin tosses, so at a certain point you might get worried. But you generally wouldn't want to change the odds to allow people to make +ev bets against you if you could help it. I don't think you'd make "heads" +115 just to get balance unless you were facing more risk than you could handle.

Obviously, the god's eye view of odds on a game is not as well known as a coin toss, but they have some idea. So you could use different approaches. A reasonable one would be to catering to people who can't beat the juice and not worrying about it, while trying to black those who can beat the juice from playing.

Update. Sixers took a 4 point lead into the 4th quarter but lost by 9. Sorry about that for your sake. But whether they lost your +8 wager by a point or whether they had scored a basket in the final seconds and lost by 7, I am still very curious to know why you (or anyone) would look at this team and ever think of wagering money on them? I guess there is the possible angle that they are "due". :/

No not exactly. I dont have the "due mentality" the Nets just aren't exactly the best team either. I am really working with someone choosing his picks and going forth trusting . If anyone wants to take over that would be great if you're a capper other wise I'll stick with him. Or we can go from acct 2 as that is all me which abruptly ended today. All of my losses have been by 1 point minus clippers. Tough day

Acct 1 -160. Total 717
Acct 2 0. (Might throw 20 in and go up again) total 0 (still slot winnings left or I might take from account 1)

Should anyone accept my offer of capping while I take the bets (risk free) pm me for details. I'm reliable and payments @ 1k 5k 10k 32k 64k and up in amounts of 100, 1k, 2k, 8k, 16k, it's a 50/50 deal I only withdrawl what you do and the rest stays. Really trying to do this big. I can be trusted. Live in vegas. More info if you accept until then back to the grind tomorrow. Best of luck to anyone reading in thier gambling adventures.

You do realize that you are at a serious disadvantage right? Even if the person was good(the best) at picking games, if you're giving them a 50% free roll that's absolutely horrible.

You are chasing a -EV dream. If you want to actually be successful at gambling and a smart gambler you need to stop going with your gut feelings and stop giving up so much value looking for the big score.

I didn't realize you were getting your picks from someone. I really hope it is not one of those services. If it is one of those, you do realize that they give picks out on both sides of the game so at least half of their customers are happy?

If you really want to do this then you need to do the research on your own.

I'm really looking for someone to ride their coattails maybe around a 60% win rate possibly to get a system worked out for me etc etc.

Safe to say this wasn't you last night at the races in Toronto.................

One lucky handicapper struck 'gold' taking down Saturday's Jackpot Hi 5 in the 10th race finale. The Filion-driven filly Shez A Gold Mine (17-1) prevailed in 1:55.3 by a neck over Kassaras Song (28-1) and Weekly Special (54-1) to lead the winning combination of 9-1-5-8-6. Black Widow Baby (2-1) was half a length behind and Boozer Bruiser (6-1) completed the top five finish order. The winning handicapper placed a 20-cent base bet for a total of $4.80, for a payout of $242,409.44.

Sorry hadn't been updating, for those who didn't see the post about my dog, I basically had to withdrawl everything I had left in my account once I got up a decent bit this week as her current vet bill is sitting around $ 2.8k. I had started a go fund me and raised about 3k for her but I had to pay 1650 up front and obviously the life choice was my dogs not william hills. I'll be restarting this soon when I get some money freed up but until then best of luck on all your bets. As always I'll take info. I believe my account has somewhere around 100 left in it after I cleaned it out. Good thing is on the colon scope of my dog they think they found the issue. I won't go into details but it is a far better outlook than the vet I was at before. Thank the world for specialists!

Just to clarify the situation about betting, Its sole purpose is a fun hobby to keep me out of the casino's working with a real life friend of mine doing picks. It just so happens i hit a pretty lucky streak there for a while. Still on vegas House Money from my slot and Wiz parlay picks. My partner has invested as well at this point into the account. Just in case it seemed otherwise or i seemed to be giving up too much EV. :D Really this has taken a back-burner to the dog though. The Go Fund me i had started raised 3100 for my dog and the bill was about 2600 for the colonoscopy procedure. On top of that was 600 for biopsies of the inflamed areas to make sure its not a disease causing inflammation and her monthly meds will be about 120 a month. She is awefully lazy today (to be expected) and i got her wearing diapers for cleanliness. TY all for the concern.

Just for the hell of it I looked online at a bevy of money lines for NHL games. My experience with there being one line makes the vig hard to beat. But using all of the available lines from the multitude of on line bookies, you don't have to be that much better than random to win, just a tad. One specific game I saw you could get -131, or +130. So for that game the fig is less than 1%. I still don't think it is easy to do.
