Biggest position on the Raiders? I have performed terribly on the moneyline this season, so I can't criticize your algorithm, except to say that it is probably a good bet, because I wouldn't have taken it. Good luck!

BTW, Oakland isn't the biggest position, it is the highest payoff however. I'm wagering 100 on Oakland in hopes of winning 800.

Did your algorithm stop picking favorites for the moneyline, or is the vig too steep to justify the lay?
Quote: AyecarumbaDid your algorithm stop picking favorites for the moneyline, or is the vig too steep to justify the lay?
Instead of an algorithm, I talked it over with my German Shepherd. He let me know that Indy over Baltimore, and San Diego over the Jets should be double digit locks this week. Note that he picked Atlanta last week, so take his advice with a grain of kibble.
I just decided to try to replicate something along the lines of how I pick MLB dogs. No favorites allowed.
BTW, so you've set it up so that you can blame the dog, eh? Kinda like it ate your homework. :-)

This is the first year that I am trying this with the NFL. I have no idea how well, or not well, it will work. The last 2 weeks have been discouraging.

Quote: steeldcoAs previously stated, the algorithm has been changed for this week, and hopefully going forward if it works. Interestingly, it is now slanted to favorites (which I'm not please with but the backtesting indicated this would work). We'll see.

I'm surprised Denver didn't come up. Does the line have be under -300 or -250 to have enough value?
What do you think the fair line for Denver should be?
Actually, I see where, as wudged pointed out, my lines got all F'd up and I didn't even notice it. BTW, Dallas is -480 and should not be a play.

Yep. Unbelievable. Al is not only rolling......he's spinning.
BTW, I see that the line is now down to -1600.

BTW, I see that 5 Dimes had it at -1600 this morning. Unfortunately, I use SBG because of ease of copying the data.
It won't matter. Oakland isn't winning.

That is a lot to lay on an NFL game where anything can happen. They are professionals and turnovers can never be counted on/against happening. I guess you will reply that "the window is open" and many will take Oakland.
Quote: steeldcoNokTang, I couldn't disagree with you. It IS A LOT to lay. However, in the interest of being consistent, I'm going to follow the algorithm's picks. It's only money.......right?
Laying 25 to 1 on an NFL game seems out of character with any algorithm input. However, as you say, it's only money and easy money, much like some stock options we see on offer(actually sold). Risking $100,000.usd to gain/earn $400.usd isn't unusual but as with stock options, it only takes one upset to really ruin your day and bankroll.
