I guess we should be glad that global warming is 'real' (ha!), otherwise many of these games would be cancelled. Just imagine how much snow there would be without global warming.
Sort of like claiming your spouse must be faithful because she had sex with you last night.
Does not compute.
Quote: MrVSo you argue that the existence of snowy football days disproves the concept of "global warming?"

Just mocking the global warming community, brother. Whenever temps hit 50's in January, they are quick to announce this is indisputable 'proof' of global warming.
Also, I asked my wife if she wanted to fool around last night. She said she had a headache. So there's that.
Just trying to see if "faulty logic" was being employed.
Humor, well, that's always welcome!

Interesting.....also tried to fool around, but I found proof of the non-existence of global warming instead......the ice caps are not melting......
FYI: MetLife stadium, home to the Giants and Jets, opened in 2010 and will be the venue for the 2014 SuperBowl - and it has no dome/roof.
Meanwhile, it was sunny at Candlestick Park - sunny, and in the upper 40s. (Short of (a) the 49ers either winning the NFC West, which is highly unlikely, (b) getting the #1 wild card and having both wild card teams in the NFC championship game, which is even more unlikely, or (c) something happen to Levi's Stadium that prevents it from opening for pre-season games next August, that was the last day game at the 'Stick, since the only remaining game is the Monday night game in two weeks against Atlanta.)

If thats the case take seatle to win the superbowl
Actually, that never happens because it would be just as incorrect as denying that human driven global warming is happening because it snowed during a football game. Scientists hold themselves to higher standards.Quote: KeyserSozeJust mocking the global warming community, brother. No worry, Seattle players will have to buy a ticket to get into the Superbowl !

No, I'm sure he's referring to scientists like Professor Wieslaw Maslowski.
Only six years ago, the BBC reported that the Arctic would be ice-free in summer by 2013, citing Professor Wieslaw Maslowski, Perhaps it was their confidence in the professor that led more than 20 yachts to try to sail the Northwest Passage from the Atlantic to the Pacific this summer. As of last week, all these vessels were stuck in the ice, some at the eastern end of the passage in Prince Regent Inlet, others further west at Cape Bathurst.
Shipping experts said the only way these vessels were likely to be freed was by the icebreakers of the Canadian coastguard. According to the official Canadian government website, the Northwest Passage has remained ice-bound and impassable all summer.

personally not a fan of the seahawks...but a fan of my opinion
assuming seahwks play all 2 games at home (with a bye)
who do youthink can beat them on their turf?
so far wilson in last 2 years has not lost at home.
I would love to see them knocked off....but I cant see who

It took a TD pass from Russell Wilson with less than two minutes left in regulation to tie the feared Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and then a Field Goal won the game for the Seahawks in OT. I understand that a win is a win, but when you have to go to OT on your own turf, coming back from a 21-0 and a 24-7 deficit to win it in OT against a winless team, it shows that you are not invincible at home, by any means.
Don't misunderstand, if the Seahawks end up at home for the NFC Playoffs, then they will definitely be my NFC pick to make the Super Bowl, but I wouldn't go as far as to call them an absolute lock just because they have home field advantage.

I'm sure you would, so would I!!!

not that bad of a bet. Just even each game. 1/2 xx 1/2 =1/4. But it's Seattle you know

I was just responding to the post (that seems to have been deleted..but i did present the quote) that the farmers almanac predicts a blizzard for the superbowl.
Based ont that....and the probabilty that the road to the superbowl does run thru seattle...and seattle does have a very good running game for blizzard conditions....they would in my opinion be worth a bet. They are a different team on the road, and play much closer games and under good weather conditions they could be beat on the road more easily. But if there was indeed a blizzard(as was the case in philly yesterday) a good runner wins the game.

I posted that on 12/8.Quote: DJTeddyBearI'll take this opportunity to remind everyone that The Farmer's Almanac has predicted a pretty nasty blizzard for the NYC metro area during SuperBowl weekend.
Since I live in northern NJ, I was VERY pleasantly surprised by the lovely weather this weekend ... particularly after living thru that damn polar vortex.
Sigh, The Farmer's prediction was only a little bit off. It's snowing like a MoFo right now.
