I was thinking maybe the a $1.00 slot 15x. What about a $5.00 3x? Isn't a larger amount better?
Would looking at the PARS of the machines help?

Is a slot machine your only option? if Video Poker is available, you may have a higher average return. If your goal is to double up, the best strategy is to go big. Play the biggest denomination you can to limit your exposure to the house advantage.

Slots is the only option.
I do not play VP.

Then go big. The smaller the denomination, the lower the average return. Good luck! May the RNG be with you.
My sense is the OP doesn't want to know the way to get the most return, but rather the way most likely to get him $15. So the low-probability chance of getting, say, $1,000 isn't important. I think then you need to minimize variance and therefore bet low.Quote: AyecarumbaThen go big. The smaller the denomination, the lower the average return. Good luck! May the RNG be with you.
This is a good idea if the lady is playing good video poker (and if I understand the value of freeplay right). If you don't seem shady and you're willing to say add a dollar in cash to the deal (so you're still "getting $15" like you wanted) this totally solves your variance problem.Quote: hoguaAsk the nice old lady on the machine next to you if she'll give you $15 cash for your $15 in free play. Maybe she'll be kind enough to take you up on the offer.
I like Video Poker too. It has less variance than the slots.
I was able to use my $500 free play from the Strat and turn it into about $550 in "real" money.
The higher the slot denomination, the better the odds (usually).
Me, I like Double Diamond.

I know that's a joke, but a lot of freeplay is connected to your card... meaning you have to put your card in the machine to redeem. If that's the case, the old lady would be duped...

My favorite Free Play story took place at Horseshoe Southern Indiana. I went on the boat to get a free buffet coupon (I forgot mine back in Ohio). The line was kind of long, so I decided to use my Free Play first. Unfortunately, Green Stamps machines were both full, so I decided to try a $1 Triple Cash Machine. I put the $20 coupon in, and there you HAVE to play slots and you HAVE to put the money through before cashing out. I was going to hit the button 10 times and walk off with what I hit. I played 3 spins and hit a bar-bar-bar once. Then all of a sudden, Triple Cash, Red Seven Red Seven for $1200 !!!
Needless to say, I had a lot of fun the rest of the trip... I happened to be lucky on it anyways but that first hit didn't hurt at all.

Yes it would help! PARS are usually closely held information. Many people would love to see PARS for the machines they are playing. I think you are surfing too much.
