I thought I would discuss this game in case the Wizard is unaware of it. The game is an advantage play but NOT easy. And I have not seen these anywhere except in one single market although I can't imagine it's nowhere else.
It's double triple diamond must hits (EDIT: I took pics of the Phoenix skin but I usually see this as your typical double-triple diamond game).
The Must hits however are not dollars increments but free games.
There are three must hits at each wager level. All must hit by fifteen free games.
The three must hits (color coded) are
Red: resets at five free games and when hits all wins are multiplied by 2X.
Green: resets at 7 free games and when hits all wins are multiplied by 5X
Blue: resets at 10 free games and when hits all wins are multiplied by 10X.
Here is a pic of the game to fully understand. It's pretty simple to be honest.
There is a rising meter of sorts but it is invisible. Instead of rising as a meter of pennies per spin it rises as a matter of time played per wager. (I read this in the instructions a while back and now can't find it so either they removed that instruction or I imagined it. However I am pretty certain it's the former.
After X number of spins, the meter is awarded a free spin. Just like a regular must hit it's actually measurable. In this case you can calculate the number of wagers before a free spin is added to the meter.
The 2X meter adds very quickly and also triggers very randomly and almost never gets to a full 15 spins. I have seen it spin at the reset level more than even 13 spins.
The 5X meter is naturally middle of the road. I have seen it get to 15X but rarely. More often it triggers around 12 spins.
The 10X meter takes extremely long to add spins and almost never triggers BEFORE 15 spins. In fact I have only seen it do so once although I don't really target these machines so my observations are very limited.
I have timed it and 10X meter takes approximately 550 wagers (give or take ten) or approximately twenty straight minutes of BUTTON MASHING for a meter add.
These machines are deceptive Advantage Play as your guarantee is for the game to trigger a bonus round with a multiplier but no guarantee you will get good symbols.
I have lost $500 at $4 max bet to trigger the bonus which ends up winning only $90.
The obvious strategy is to find a game that has a bonus meter at 14 free games however it's rare to find this in the real world. More likely you will have to jump in at 13 free games.
The Vultures!
This game is definitely vulturable as I witness it being attacked by teams. At least in the few locales I have seen these
The strategy appears to be thus.
One vulture camps out within view of the games (usually a bank of four). They don't have to pay attention to every bet level nor check the different amounts. (The headboard display cycles through the amounts and free spins meters current setting).
All they pay attention to is the Max bet when it's at 13 spins. The trick is to catch when it is 12 and the 13th spin gets added. They then clock other people playing, timing it such that when approximately 80% of the necessary wagers have been made to the next meter rise, they jump in. Then they hope to make it to the bonus without losing too much.
It's an imprecise method as you never know when someone will rise and abandon the meter.
It's also hugely time consuming. Which is the point of the teams.
One team vulture sits and monitors and keeps track. The OTHER team members roam the Casino looking for the more traditional vulturable plays (Scarab for example). They take turns monitoring the must hits.
In this manner they are making profit while protecting the must hits.
From what I have observed they do not necessarily pool their finances. I believe it's the opposite. They protect the machines and then give each of themselves first dibs. So it's more friendly rivals working in unison more than a genuine team but it's definitely teamwork they are doing.
I briefly looked into these as a possible play. The whole team vulturing isn't for me and so I quickly discovered it wasn't advantageous for me. However these can be used for card building purposes similar to Hexbreaker I suppose.

There are different versions of this machine which take different amounts of spins to guarantee an increase in the blue.
Also, the number of spins you counted is a cap, so it can go up before that number at some random point.

If you are taking this gaming before 14 you are losing money. To have any chance of coming out ahead in the long term you must be at least 30-40% thru the cycle for this to be a decent play - especially if your shop pays pennies in the 85% range.

Numbers per a knowledgeable individual are:
Cycle for Red / Green / Blue
93% payback 40 / 100 / 475
91% - 45 / 120 / 550
89% - 48 / 175 / 600
There is also numbers for 85% machines but I do not remember at the moment. This is why you need to be pretty deep into the cycle if you try to play 85%ers.

Unfortunately like most must hits, the proper time to grab a seat to be profitable never actually is available in the real world.
The Vultures will grab the seats at increasingly earlier points.
My opinion. This vulturable play is really only doable in the real world in combination with other plays.

You are definitely correct. People are taking these way too early quite frequently. Also, as you had mentioned, there is a good chance to get hosed during the free spins as they often run bad and don’t meet expectations.

I have had some limited success attacking this game alone. It is true that it can be a good point builder. My targets are ;
Red: 12
Green: 13
Blue: 14
Since you can't quick tap this one I usually tried to do something else with my time however if there is no other good opportunities I will take it.

Have seen these in Harrahs Cherokee NC, Caesars Southern Indiana and Cherokee Casino OK, just these past few months. I have seen different "flavors" of it, but same basic game. The only time I counted was when the blue meter (10x) got to 13 spins, it took 81 spins before it hit the free spins bonus.

Hmm I will be in Cherokee this week, anyone know where exactly these are within the facility?
I don't quite understand how to AP these based on the OP description but I think that's because I will need to see it in action to see the meters being discussed.

It's simple.
All three meters are for free games. The number of free games rises as you play.
If you see a meter that says 14 free games play because as soon as the meter rises to 15 free games, you got it! 15 free games.
On the other hand if you see the meter says 11 free games don't play it because it will be some time before the bonus is guaranteed as the meter first has to rise to 12 free games then 13, then 14, etc
Wait for other people to play until the meter is at 14. Then swoop in (like a vulture) and grab the meter before it gets to 15 free games.
The key is how close to 15 games can you grab it so it is profitable AND someone else doesn't have their buttskies parked in the machine refusing to get up and obviously playing it through themselves to 15 free games
Figuring out the game is easy
Figuring out the time to play is a little difficult, requiring some math and/or intelligent reasoning.
Figuring out how to get the machine at all before vultures hit it early. That's the real challenge.

Ok that makes sense. Sort of like the Obelisk tower slot game that I think was AP'd at one time? Will report back if I see people camping out these machines or not. Cherokee seems to not have many APs the few times I've scoped out the very few AP-able games there, or I just got lucky.

Someone pm me where these are physically at Cherokee, made $400 from either super lucky scores or at least attempting to AP some must hit slots today on some other games talked about here. Have walked most of the floor but not the newer area near the new side of the hotel.
