The catch is, he thinks someone screwed up because all the jackpots starting at 5 hits are double. 5 hit = $30, instead of $15. 6 hits = $150, instead of $75, 7 hits = $300 instead of $150, on up to 9, they all re-set at double normal.
He's asking me if this is a positive EV tech mistake. I told him 'I dunno'. I told him to go back and get the meter rates.
Quote: bobbartopFriend of mine in Vegas calls me, he found an interesting Quick Hit. Say a standard Quick Hit might have a max bet of $1.50. The jackpots usually go 3 hit = 1 x max bet, 4 hit = 5 x max bet, 5 hit = 10 x max bet, 6 hit = 50 x max bet, 7 hit = 100 max bet, etc., and all the way up to 9 hits.

I didn't ask him but I'm thinking maybe the small hits of 3 or 4 pay double too. I dunno.
So essentially, he's playing a $3 machine for $1.50.

Other payable info is needed too. Maybe the normal line hits are paying way less than normal
Quote: GWAEDont have your answer but usually there is a progressive. Does this machine have a fixed number instead of progressive
They're progressive, that's why I asked him to check meter rate. 8 quick hits is over $3000 and 9 is over $12k. It's a $3 machine for only $1.50.
Your other question about the line hits, I'll try to find out, I didn't think of it.
I'm thinking he's going to walk in there soon and find the max bet is "back to" $3.
By the way, it's a bank, not standalone.

Max, I already got in hot water over a progressive video poker a couple weeks ago. I told someone on this group through PM and they went down there and snapped it right up for $2500. I fessed up to a friend in Vegas and he's still mad at me. I was just trying to be nice. I can't win.

You can win, don’t bring it up.

I still don't know what to say about it. But thanks for nuthin.
This can happen if the denomination is changed, and someone forgets to set the progressive starts to lower numbers. Someone got fired at one casino for this around 2011-2013.Quote: bobbartopThe catch is, he thinks someone screwed up because all the jackpots starting at 5 hits are double. 5 hit = $30, instead of $15. 6 hits = $150, instead of $75, 7 hits = $300 instead of $150, on up to 9, they all re-set at double normal.

You can win by selling the information. See if someone will pay you $50 for it.
