That All That Glitters slot really saved my ass! I now have enough to pay for a haircut, get my phone bill paid, and have enough to eat until my next paycheck. :D
So, what slot machines have saved your ass? :D
In fact, I was actually walking out the door to leave when I saw the ass saving machine. By the time I hit the machine, my mouth and stomach were begging me to go to McDonald's and use the Buttermilk Chicken coupon(you get free Medium Fries and free Medium drink if you buy a Buttermilk Chicken sandwich which is roughly $5), so sitting there and pumping anymore than $15 back into the machine was completely out of the question.
Quote: WizardofnothingWhy are you even wasting your time with telling us this - clearly this cannot be for real
It is for real. I was lucky the slot machine gave me a big hit or I would have been in big trouble.

Quit gambling your eatin' money.
Quote: KentryI still had $47 in money in non tangible cash
I don't even know how to interpret that.
Either it's tangible cash - you can fold it, put it in your pocket, spend it on cheeseburgers... or it's not cash.
Quote: KentryI meant I still had money in other means (...) free play.
Free play is not money. It's EV. There is a difference.
A useful guideline - "If I lost this money, would I still be OK for the next month?" If no, you shouldn't be wagering it.

Good point. But, I'm planning to turn that free play into cash. Last time they gave me free play, I turned it into the full amount into cash by low rolling and cashing out every single time I got a winning line.

... and there is absolutely no guarantee that you can ever do it again.

Gotta be in it to win it
Quote: WizardofnothingReally djatc is it nice to contribute to someone's downfall to the point they can't afford a Big Mac - even worse - to resurrect this thread from falling off the charts
Djatc's a horrible influence. He once made me smoke a cigarette.
Quote: KentryI walked into the Casino with roughly $85 in tangible cash. I spent roughly 6 hours in the casino and was down to about $35(after being up and down) played All That Glitters,(now had about $30)a 5 cent machine, and one hit at a quarter(5 cents times 5 lines gave me $50, so I had $55) I blew roughly $15 back into the machine, and than ran for the hills. I spent $5 in Lottery and roughly $5 on a McDonald's meal. I bought some cheap shoes for about $17 then went home. I now have about $43 in tangible cash, $28 in the bank, a $14 TITO for another Casino, and $5 in free play for that other Casino.

In my experience, this has been my favorite slot to play.

Yeah, but if you don't play, it's like you can't lose.
Quote: WizardofnothingDid he make you play 6-5 bonus poker as well ? He has been known to sneak off into corners and play those pay tables (-:
I pay myself 2 credits everytime i hit a full house on 6/5 bp, no worries.

Quote: KentryUpdate. Went to the bank, got the money. Went to the Casino and cashed out $14 voucher. Used most of it. Free play that was $5 only amounted to $1.44 in real money. I played almost all of the bank money too. Now just barely have enough to get a haircut. Left Casino feeling disgusted in myself. Seriously facing not having my phone bill paid now until next paycheck. Going to refund one of the pairs of shoes I bought yesterday for money so I can eat for a few days. Thinking of begging Mom for phone bill money, really don't like asking Mom for money.
In all honesty, have you considered speaking with a Gaming Representative in a casino about the various self-exclusion programs that are available?
Based on your posts, it seems that it may be in your best interest to refrain from gambling further.
I vote for the first one. It seems strange that someone who's in that desperate of a situation is wasting time on a forum.Quote: mason2386Either a troll or someone who is in a downward spiral..... If in a spiral, seek help.
Quote: KentryLet's get this back on topic. Anyone wanna talk about slots that helped them out financially when they were down significantly? ;)
You won't find any. Video Poker under certain circumstances can have a positive expectation, though you still have to account for variance. Based on the posts from this thread, you really shouldn't consider slots, tables, VLTs, or any other gambling outlets for a source of income. If you're being honest, I highly recommend that you contact a gambling help line, sign up for a self-exclusion program, and seek additional financial help.

I believe the general wisdom is that it's not so much a gambling problem as a stopping problem.
Kentry,
In the short term, you can win playing any game.
In the long term, playing any negative expectation game, you will lose.
Quote: WizardofnothingNo way in the world this isn't a troll thread- waiting for a mod to step up and drop the hammer - come on guys lets get going
You're most likely right, but even if there is an absolutely remote chance that something like this is real, I want to at least make an effort to help. I see countless people lose their paycheques and worse in casinos.
