For Month of May 2012
1. Resorts World NYC (Aqueduct) : $57.5M
2. Mohegan Sun : $55.4M
3. Foxwoods : $50.4M
4. Empire City (Yonkers): $46.8M
5. Borgata : $33.5M
Recent talks between Genting and the office of Governor Cuomo of NY,
regarding the construction of a $4B convention center at Aqueduct recently failed.
Obviously, this bolsters Genting's claim that the Aqueduct casino is
an excellent site for a full casino, when table games are (most likely to be) approved next year.

New York City gamblers have long filled their gambling desires in Atlantic City and Connecticut,”
Now they have someplace right in their backyard, and they are going there in droves.”
Nothing beats being a locals casino when your in the biggest market there is. Used to be motorists took a drive to some more rural road house and had dinner and a fling at the gambling tables in some backroom. Now travel seems frowned on.

It is $44.7 million in Washoe County (i.e. Reno/Sparks). That is for 42 casinos. But there is only one place in NYC which has a population of over 8 million people, although some people in Bronx go to Yonkers. Aqueduct has the highest per machine return of anyplace in the country, but that was pretty easy to predict.
PARX outside of Philadelphia brings in $32.6 million in slot revenue in May, but the 4 Philadelphia casinos bring in $75.6 million.

Has anyone ever suggested putting a caisno on Governor's Island? As near as I can tell it is sitting there unused and an easy ferry ride from southern Manhattan.

The 150 acre portion of the island not included in the National Monument is administered by The Trust for Governors Island,
an entity of the City of New York and the successor of the joint city/state established redevelopment entity,
the Governors Island Preservation and Education Corporation.
The transfer included deed restrictions which prohibit permanent housing or casinos on the island.
