I thought he was playing way too passive in the live face to face head up match of 200 hands. If not for being hit over the head with the deck he would have been outplayed and lost.

I'm not at expert level by any means, but it seems at first read Daniel did misplayed some spots from GTO perspective and even in the latest session he did some mistakes which seemingly must lead to a massive leak in the long term.
Still, one online session each (out of 5 total?, how many hands played thus far? ) where they respectively ran very hot and chips are at about even. And Daniel seems to learn way too fast for a classical tournament poker player, admittedly one of the best in the world in his field.
