My wife and I just returned from a 7 day visit to Las Vegas for some low stakes limit poker and some sunshine. She likes to play this non stress version of Hold 'em. We played at several locations including the Golden Nugget, Orleans, Red Rock, and South Point. On our last night she joined a 2-4 limit game at South Point. On her very first hand she was dealt pocket 8s. The flop brought two more 8's for quad eights and a $50 poker room bonus. Ten minutes later she repeated the feat with pocket 3s, flopping 2 more 3s for another $50 bonus. Many of the regulars at the table explained to her that if she were playing at the Orleans she would have received $500 for each set of flopped quads during their current promotion. We did play at the Orleans earlier in the week, but was not even dealt a pocket pair. She still enjoyed the attention from the geezers and dealer at the table.

I've never flopped quads, ever. At least, according to my memory.
And the wife did it twice, three minutes apart? Nice.
I've hit quads on the river, though (once).

I’ve had quads on the turn. I had two people that kept reraising me. That was fun...

I flopped quads (5's) on my very first trip to a card room some 15 years ago. Haven't done it since!

I've had many, many more straight flushes (lower end, 8/7/6 high, straight up flopped 'em more times than I can count) than quads overall.
Go figure.

I've been playing casino poker since 1994 and in that time have made quads only twice. I flopped 4 sixes once and flopped a full house, pushed all in to see my opponent turn over quads and then make higher quads on the river. Bad beat required Aces full getting beat and since my full house was queens over tens I was glad to see him win the bad beat. I have made four straight flushes but no royal yet.

I flopped quads three weeks ago in a local home game tournament.
It was 400-800 and a very tough player opened in early position with a bet of 3,000 chips.
I had A-4 suited and called that opening bet from the small blind. I would normally throw that hand away in that situation, but I was "varying my play." The size of the bet also made me wonder whether the bettor didn't want a call.
The flop came 4-4-4. I sat there and rapped the table -Check! (What else can you do?) My opponent checked.
The turn came 7.
I made a bet of 3,000 hoping my opponent would think I was trying to steal it. My opponent raised to 9,000. I delayed and made a show of counting the chips in the middle (because everyone in that game knows I am a a math geek and would assume I was calculating pot odds thereby implying I had a marginal hand.) And then I called.
The river was a queen. I bet 10,000 and opponent went all in (about 32,000 chips). I called. Opponent turned over pocket 10-10. I turned my cards over and there was silence and then a roar as everyone at the table started yelling. Nobody had suspected the possibility that I had a 4.
Lots of fun! Extremely unlikely flop and A-4 was the only conceivable hand in which I would be holding the case 4 and maybe call the opening bet. It was extremely well-hidden.

what a donk shove on the river
Don't beat yourself up over past mistakes, you are going to f*** up again in the future, quite possibly in the most spectacular fashion, why worry about yesterday's f*** up's when you have tomorrow's f*** up's to look forward to?
You are a f*** up, and f***** up is part of your growth process, embrace the process.

Agreed, pretty awesome Gordon stacked him. His bet is repping a queen minimum.

I flopped quad 8's on Saturday playing WSOP.com. Sadly, I didn't even cash in the tournament.

Did the dealer at least qualify for the hand?
Have you tried 22 tonight? I said 22.

She did. Call it a booby prize but I've probably saved the bonus payout x 100 because I never put the dollar in. :-)
