Does anyone know a good source for finding out what current promotions are being offered by different rooms? I'd be interested in finding a source for rooms across the country, but if not that, at least for Las Vegas.

Superstitions are silly, childish, irrational rituals, born out of fear of the unknown. But how much does it cost to knock on wood? 😁

Derby Lane Poker room In St Petersburg FL
This is a very successful poker room. Always busy.
Every time I walk in, seems at least 30 active tables. That's a busy poker room.
Surprising considering the Tampa area is pretty competitive with 3 poker rooms. The other 2, Hard rock and Tampa Bay downs
Derby lane has a great promotion going
On Saturdays this month, every 20 min, noon to midnight, a random seat is picked to win 190.00. The house funds this promotion.
Highest hand in the room every 15 min wins 500.00. Of course funded by the jackpot rake.

Hmm, I think I know where I will be next Saturday :-)

When somebody doesn't believe me, I could care less. Some get totally bent out of shape when not believed. Weird. I believe very little on all forums

Yeah that's pretty strong. I have been playing all week at local for a 400 high hand every hour.
Today's timing was terrible. High hand for the day ends and 10 min later I get JJ. Flop was JJQ. Turn K flop Q. I am button. Other person in pot bets 75. I go all in with 325. He immediately calls. He flips over KK. Sigh... i win which was obviously great but the way he called I thought for sure a bad beat was about to happen. So I miss high hand by 10 min and so close to bad beat. I did win the 800 pot though.
Expect the worst and you will never be disappointed.

I agree downloading this App is a must if you play poker. Not only does it provide you with the current up to the minute number of games a particular room has going, but also a live list in addition to current promos and other information. A poker room has to use the Bravo system in order to appear on the app so you may not find info on every poker room.

If the house is funding it, that's awesome.
If a jackpot drop is funding it, it's gonna be neutral a lot.
An exception is when there is something like a free roll, where the casuals are paying the regs.
My very favorite is splash pots. Even if funded by the drop, people play these incredibly poorly and you can have a big edge. Axel and I played one at the Venetian. They were putting $100 in the middle preflop at 1/2. One time a few people limped to my button and I made it like $40 and took it down.
There was another hand where Axel was in the BB and everyone folded except me and one other guy. 3 ways to the flop in a limped pot with $100 sitting in the middle. LOL. I think we had 6 splash pots and either Axel or I won 4.
One of the most +ev plays of my life. I almost got stacked on one $100 splash. I enter the next hand, which is also a $100 splash with $4. Obviously, I toss the money in blind getting over 25-1. (I wonder how many players would rebuy here.)
