Play let it ride every once in awhile, stick to the usual bet, no side bets, but im curious and havent read anywhere or can find anything on the 3 card bonus side bet....whats your opinion on this 3 card bonus side bet is it any good to play? or is it a sucker bet, just like almost every other side bet in the casino?.....

rather simple question should i play well not should but would it be a stupid decision for me to play the 3 card bonus side bet?

payout table for the side bet is

pair 1 to 1
flush 4 to 1
straight 5 to 1
3 of a kind 30 to 1
straight flush 40 to 1
mini royal 50 to 1

anyone else got an opinion?

and dont just leave a post sayingg every side bet is dumb

This is the pairs plus bet for Let it Ride. The Wizard does not include this side bet in his Let it Ride analysis here .

However, he indicates that there are 1096 combinations of flushes and 720 combinations of straights. In his analysis, the entire side bet where it pays 1-3-6-30-40-50 has a HA of 7.0950 percent or -1,568 / 22,100 (the total combinations of three card hands possible).

By switching the pay table to 1-4-5, you get the following.

-1568 / 22,100 - 720 / 22100 + 1096 / 22100 = -1192 / 22,100 = 5.394 percent.

Every side bet is dumb. Just kidding.

See the Wizard of Odds' page on Let It Ride and the 3-Card Bonus Bet here.

The Wizard analyzes four paytables, and their house edges range from 7.10% to 2.14%. Your pay table is not one of the four, but you can use his combinations data to calculate your house edge at 5.39% This is better than the most common 3-Card Bonus Bet house edge, which is 7.10%.
