On my visit to Mohegan Sun this holiday I noticed a new bright shinny object at the blackjack tables that has replaced the Super4 Progressive jackpot side bet. AGS's STAX add-on for Super4 has changed the side bet to five progressive jackpots along with keeping the lower-tier, poker-derived pay table elements. The new display prominently displays the progressives against bright primary colors. It is eye catching, but I think that's where the exitement ends.

AGS markets the add-on as highly configurable, so it is understandable that they don't have pay tables on their web site. Of course, the nitty gritty about how it can be configured is not information they share with the unwashed gamblers of the world. I found the display at Mohegan Sun confusing as to what exactly is offered. No rack cards were available, and the several dealers and pit bosses I asked about the side bet seemed clueless. Mohegan Sun's web site has no information about the change. (Perhaps déjà vu of the botched Free Bet offering they attempted?)

So there you have it. If anyone has further comments or information about STAX, please post!

the lowest progressive is Must Hit by $500.

A what point do i start playing it for it to be +EV?
And how much does it costs? $1 per hand?

It's a terrible game. Never play it. My casino had it for about 6 months. Probably the worst side bet I've actually seen installed in a casino.
