I was in Vegas in December of 2010 with my wife and a family friend of ours that had recently turned 21. We strolled past a "Deal or No Deal" video game and our 21 year old wanted to stop and play. I had not seen a game like this one before, but I am not a big slots guy. It wasn't the slot machine game with the Deal or No Deal Bonus Game above, it was just the case selection portion of Deal or No Deal.
The game worked something like this (keep in mind it was like 2AM and we were tired heading back to our room at MGM when we came across the game):
First off, the game was on an end cap and had a two person bench seat in front of it......I stood behind and the two ladies sat down to play.
You put in $100 or whatever you wanted.
Then you selected how much of the $100 you wanted to count on each "spin" and then pushed a button to spin this video wheel.
About a quarter of the spots on the wheel, said "cases or bonus" or something like that, but it wasn't a multi reel type slot feature, it was literally a video representation of something like the spinner in the game of "Life" by Milton Bradley. You spun the wheel losing your selected wager on each spin until you hit a spot that got you to the bonus round.
Of course the first time we played, we hit "cases or bonus" on spin 1 and so didn't quite get the concept that normally getting to the bonus round takes multiple spins and you lose your $5 or whatever each time. The next time I went through 8 spins at $5 a spin before getting to the "cases".
Once you got to the cases, the value of the cases depended on the amount you wagered on the spin that got you to the bonus round. Once you hit the cases round, it was just like the TV show in that you picked a case that was yours and then picked 6 other cases to open, then a bankers offer, then more cases to open, etc.
When I search the net for this game, all I find is the Deal or No Deal Slot Machine that appears to have many other types of wins (like a normal slot) and also has a bonus round similar to what I have described. Does the machine I thought I played that night exist separately from the traditional slot machine that is branded with Deal or No Deal? It seems odd that I can't find it......maybe I was more tired that night than I thought and I was playing the slot.....I just don't recall a multi-reel type of play ever during the game. Just the spinner.
Has anyone else seen or played this "Video Deal or No Deal" game before?

I watched my friend play it probably 3+ years ago. I doubt many casinos still have it. From what I saw the odds of hitting the bonus picking cases round are much worse than what the wheel would lead you to believe. Between it being based on a licensed tv show and the time it takes to play it, I think it probably has one of the worst payback % in the casino.

Agree......it was a great time killer and usually drew a crowd of folks watching it. I too wondered how it made sense to the property, but it was a highlight of the trip....I think we netted a couple of hundred on the machine and had some nice time on device.

I actually have a thread on this... Is Deal or No Deal All Reels...
Feel free to revive the debate if you like. I look for these machines when they are left with a significant top dollar amount. One time, on a free play, I went for and hit the top dollar prize. It was pretty awesome.

Ballys LV has that game on an end cap down the center aisle about 2/3 of the way from the front door to the tables. My wife and I were feeling no pain one night walked passed and started dropping dollar after dollar into the game without understanding the concept. The rules aren't listed very well. After about 15 dollars without the bonus round (and not knowing what the hell was going on) we cashed out and left. The next couple put in a couple of bucks and got the bonus round, which kinda pissed us off, but they crashed and burned by going all the way and got ugotz.
I have never played the game again, but every once in a while someone sits down, but I never seen anyone do anything worth wild on it.

I saw the no reels game last night. It says something like "All deals, no reels." Now, I don't know where that was, either Planet Hollywood or the Flamingo. I turned my head to look when a few guys were hollering about how they had a sixth sense. I thought it must be good. When I looked, they actually had six cents.

I got tricked by this game too. First spin went to the game, thought every spin got the game. Won like $50 that game, lost it all back before winning like 4 cents on a bonus. Fun times!

Four Queens on Fremont also has this unit. I saw a woman start with 300, get the case game pretty early, deal for ~520$, lose the double or nothing, and proceed to whittle away the remaining ~240 into nothing without getting to 'play' again.
Horrible, horrible game, but fun for spectators!

The irony here is if you asked her to put $520 on red or black in roulette she would tell you she isn't crazy to bet that much on one outcome. It is definitely a "hit/run" type machine. I believe I played this exact machine during my stay over G2E in early October. Put in $20 and cashed out for $120, 7 mins later! The game is a blast and I am sure that I will stick $20 in it whenever I come across it.

Of course you'd be crazy to put that much on roulette-- that has comparatively horrible odds with the 0/00! ;)
How much did you bet per spin? My record with witnessing "losses" was 19 spins in a row.
