Hello everyone,

I wanted to start a discussion about something every gambler faces sooner or later: losing streaks. We all know how tempting it can be to try and win everything back quickly, but that usually leads to even bigger losses.

So I am curious, how do you personally handle losing streaks without falling into the trap of chasing losses? Do you have any strategies, habits, or mindset shifts that help you stay in control and walk away when things are not going your way?

I usually have 25 bet buy-ins and apparently I'll need at least 10 of them to realistically keep going. If I can win to 50 of them, I'll be on to the next level.

A recreational player gambles to see how much fun they can buy with their money.

Some days, you get a little. Other days, you get a lot less.
May the cards fall in your favor.

I used to take only that session's bankroll with me, leaving my trip BR and my ATM cards in my hotel room. On one trip, I had five consecutive bad days, so on the sixth day, I booked a bus down to Laughlin and spent most of the day exploring the town. After a few visits, I realized gambling 8-12 hours a day wasn't all there was.
When I moved to Vegas, I gambled only with what was in my pocket. Losing happens.
The older I get, the better I recall things that never happened

From the home games of BJ and I'm getting that losing happens except when you're winning. I've got to get on real tables more to know if these losing streaks are for real. It all seems like the software cranks up the level of difficulty beyond maximum and why would a real table do that except for their shuffler machines? If you get nervous about losing, just switch it up to two spots for a few hands to change the flow of the cards, or surrender once more than normal, or play never-bust for part for the shoe.

It gives hope to see one YouTuber lose $4K betting 1 or 2 hands at $100 - $300/hand on regular BJ in half an hour and then come back the next day and win most of it back on a Free Bet Black Jack table with a table maximum $25 Pot Of Gold bet. Imagine hitting that for 100 to 1 or 1,000 to 1 payouts.

Hey heatmap, that doesn’t sound very healthy.
Have you considered taking a break from gambling?
