Hey, don't need any details, just curious about if anyone here is gambling online.

Forgive me for shamelessly bumping this once, seeing if more people are interested in answering the poll. Any discussion is welcome also.

Hard for me to answer usefully within the multiple choice options.
I do manage bank accounts and investment accounts online, but I don't gamble online.

I feel sure many more would vote if there was an option that read "I have never gambled on-line"
The only gambling I've ever done on-line is buying an occasional lottery ticket.

these days i mostly play online poker when I have time. My biggest online tournament win was $22K year and half ago, for the first place.

I live in New Jersey.
When they legalized in-state gambling, you could get a free account with a $10 signup bonus with no deposit required.
I haven't played recently. I think my $10 is up to about $14. Woo hoo!

I was in NJ 4 years ago. I was appalled at
the crumbling infrastructure everywhere
I went. It was all rusty. Street signs,
RR overpasses, cars, fire hydrants, gas
station pumps. Potholes everywhere,
ancient traffic lights, it was all very
depressing. The people who live there
don't see it because that's their life.
Yuk..

"I haven't tried investing serious time/money in it" is the closest I could come to "never have and wouldn't dream of of it" - as others have noted, you didn't really give that choice.
Certainly I couldn't live with myself if I was doing it for entertainment only.
Even if I saw my way clear to what would seem to be profitable, I would never trust any of these outfits.
Even if I went with Wizard protection, +EV situation, and some place like Bovada where others have said it's OK, I would still hate to go through all the bullcrap hassles of money in and money out.

Never have, probably never will. I don't trust a live dealer I can watch deal real cards, not even when I see all new cards at table start up. Guess I'm not a trusting soul.
I believe I should be able to bring my own video surveillance gear, but the house doesn't agree.
So I voted option 5 as closest.

For me, a big chunk of why I gamble is the experience/atmosphere. Since you can't get that online, I haven't played any casino games online for real money.
Now, poker was/is a different story for me -- it's less about the atmosphere and more about the challenge of playing. When the FL laws changed in 2007 to allow no-limit cash games, I started tracking my play (at B&M rooms) and found that I was actually a winning NLHE player overall.
I figured playing online would be a convenient way to continue to my winning ways. So, I dropped a couple hundred into my PokerStars account. I promptly lost it. So, I dropped a couple hundred more... and lost that, too. I took a step back and noted that for a couple of reasons, I didn't have the temperament for the online game. I realized that in a live game, I relied on information I gathered from observing the other players at the table, which I couldn't do online. I also noted my impulse control was much better in the live game than with clicking a mouse on the computer.
Needless to say, I don't play online for real money any more. I did keep my account for a few more years, playing the "play money" games. I found that it helped keep me sharp for my live games. I actually ran my play money account into the millions. Does that make me a "virtual millionaire?" :)
These days I don't get to play very often, and when I do, it's usually a low-stakes limit Omaha or Stud game. And I haven't touched my PokerStars account in years.
