Me and my wife recently went to vegas & using the / website we made special trips just to play the video poker machines! We stayed at the westgate where I played about 6,000 hands at $1.25 a piece. the loose deuces game I was playing pays out 100.15%. So in theory I wasn't expecting to really win big but I lost about $600 overall. Never got a royal or 4 deuces one time. So then using the website we found one of the highest returns was at the El Cortez with the downtown deuces. We had to find the 2 specified machines because not all the machines paid the same which I thought was weird. We played these machines for 3-4 hours at a pretty fast pace rate. (We use the video poker hand analyzer on our phones on hands if there is any question at all to ensure we'd receive the 100.92% payout long term) but my question is this are these machines guaranteed to have a true randomized function of cards dealt? We really never saw hardly any deuces during this entire time period. Once we went back to westgate I had no question that westgates machines were truly randomized, but I was very concerned about the machines at El Cortez. These were the super old school machines that take quarters & pay out in quarters. It wouldn't even take my new $100 bills.... Is it possible for them to reduce the amount of deuces dealt? Or was i just having a super unlucky time? I honestly want to go back for a weekend sometime just for fun & play this machine because of the edge but I don't want to waste my time if they're programmed to not deal deuces!

Also for my next question. My local casino is offering a $500 rebate promotion same as the other post I made. I've now taken 6 people up to do the $500 bet & they have all won. I was the only one losing the original $500. I did receive 8 $62 coupons that I took back to gamble where they would pay $124 for each win. This casino is literally right down the street from my work & it's not an issue to go multiple times, but in there system they entered me as my average bet being $500 & now since they've sent me my rebates they've sent me $1100 more in coupons. A total of 16 hotel rooms & $100 in food comps. So that's $1600 just so far for a one time $500 bet that I lost.

So what I think I should do is instead of having people bet $500 one time if they win we pick it up & leave. I think we should bet $500 until getting up to $2500 or losing the original $500 since the free play is so amazing. Potentionally if we would of won all the free play coupons so far that's $3200. I know this won't happen but I just think I should get this set up rather then doing what we've been doing this far. They have 2 deck blackjack & this would be the best bet in the casino that would be applicable for the promotion. It looks like their edge is .32% or so according to the calculator.

Please let me know what you think I should do to get this set up to profit the most amount of money per person I take up to do the bets.

As far as the video poker goes, yes, it's random. You're only going to see 4 deuces 1 in every ~4664 hands. That doesn't mean you WILL see 1 every 4664 hands, that's just the "average" cycle. Like anything else, there's variance. You could go 2, 3, or 4 cycles without seeing one... In the end you have to determine the range from the "EV" +/- the variance so you can say something like "With 99% confidence you'll hit 4 deuces 1 in every 4664 hands +/- 10k hands" thus you could go like 15k hands without hitting 4 deuces. In the end the math will right itself (no that doesn't mean you're "due" so to say)... but yes you just experienced variance.
Playing it correctly means you've already won.
