Primarily we are going to discuss listener questions we've received and haven't gotten to yet. We could use some more. Suggestions welcome.
Bob
How would you approach a host, asking for some type of deal (ie: a rebate on losses)? Like a place you don't frequent but may be planning a trip to or haven't played in quite a while.
Has RWM delved into VP? What are his experiences so far (practice, playing, negative/positive/fair results, etc.)?
How many hours of strictly playing do you put in per month on average? Not including practice, research, scouting, analyzing games, travel, or none of that. Strictly time on a machine in casino.
Then how many hours do you put in per month on everything else (practice, research, etc.) that a regular AP would do (ie: not including book writing, seminars, classes, GWAE stuff, etc.)?
Not GWAE related, but any chance UX or QQ will be included into VPW?
Also thoughts on the future of VP pay tables in LV on and off the strip and does anyone actually care? By care I mean the majority of players, as in 6/5 BJ.
The same reason Ploppies love 6:5 blackjack. Its pushed to them 24 hours a day with great big ads on the marquee.Quote: djatcWhy do kids love cinnamon crunch

Actually it's not, but they don't care. They saw (name the movie) and think you can win at BJ.
Quote: beachbumbabsI'd be interested in hearing more about Richard's work with JG, if that's discussable.
So would I.
He's not talking
I think we'd all love to hear some of that =P.. Could he possibly discuss what's mostly already been published in open articles? Someone on here posted an article where JG was interviewed talking about beating card craps in CA by signaling to Richard. Apparently it was a pretty ad hoc (at least the article made it sound like it) so I'd love to hear the "bathroom discussion" that took place before hand that led up to the play. Most of us AP's have stumbled across opportunities and had to have the "bathroom talk" with someone to squeeze in some extra EV on a trip or something. Personally, I've been in a mens bathroom stall with RS in downtown Vegas in the last year... ALL WE DID WAS DISCUSS GAMBLING.Quote: BobDancerSo would I.

How did the radio show get started? Why did each of you end up deciding to do it (to educate people, to have fun discussions about the secret things you did every day, etc, etc)?
Bob - While this may be in your book (my teammate still has your book as he's supposed to head up our machine play), or very early episodes of GWAE before my time as a listener, how did you get in to VP? How did the curiosity all begin, followed by what steps you took to investigate the math to find out you had an edge? Did you always excel in mathematics or did you have help?
Richard - Same question about blackjack. Also, he's banned from competing for the Grosjean cup. Did all of that knowledge just come over years of experience?
I'd love to hear about both of your respective "early days" when you still made mistakes (or more mistakes perhaps), how you evaluated plays, what you did to correct your mistakes, etc, etc.
Sounds like you guys need someone to interview you two... ;-)

Maybe. One of Richard's friends, Cat Hulbert, was going to do this and she decided she didn't know me well enough to ask interesting questions.
We do have some mutual friends who could do a good job of such an interview --- but most wish to keep a low profile and are hence "radio shy".

Jelly?
Have you ever played a VP machine where you thought perhaps something is not right? If so what did you do?
Expand a ton on this... did you ever find a "glitch" (which I believe he's discussed one or two over the years), and also did you ever find a "too good pay table" (which is not a glitch) that you found morally acceptable to exploit, and thus you did...Quote: vegasBob

I'll never forget that night at The D (couldn't make that up - that's where we were).Quote: RSQuote: djatc

Also will any of the current or former hosts write another book?
On the topic of the IRS abandoning lowering the machine jackpot threshold. Seems like it's too late for the show, maybe save this for the next time.
Quote: odiousgambitI'd like to hear what you and Munchkin think about the casino credit system [markers] and the involvement of that system with incidents of well-to-do problem gamblers getting taken to the cleaners [like certain professional athletes]
My question got included, thanks [if still tuning in here]
Neither host came down too hard on it. Munchkin leveled a charge at casino mendacity but ultimately said we need to realize we need these suckers in order to support the rest of us. Not in so many words and I don't think he meant it to sound like it did. On the other hand, plenty of people including the Wizard have said we need less informed players to play the bad-rule-games for the same reason. That's similar but not as, well, not as depraved.
One thing I gather is that anyone who has used casino credit is likely to "appreciate it" - and this makes us hesitate to criticize it. I appreciate and use it too for that matter.
There is, of course, communication before hand to set up times/dates/locations/and possible topics.Quote: onenickelmiracleAnother for the future, when you're speaking with guests, are you only speaking with them or is there some texting, chat, emails going on we don't see?
